@@hankimitsu8188 Because the modern world isn't one I want to live in. I'd rather dissociate from it as much as I can instead. But that isn't much of a feasible option. I imagine the OP is similar in thought.

You know, throughout the anime I was quite confused what the story was trying to say to me as I watch it. When the ending finally came I thought "Oh it's finally ending I guess." The next day I was a little sad it had ended and I had to look for a new anime. I now know how truly legendary this story is and I thank it for keeping me company for awhile. I appreciate it.

I felt the same, I waited 2 years and rewatched it, knowing how the story goes somehow makes it SO MUCH better, I'm loving every moment
@cinche90553 ай бұрын
You're confused because the first half of the anime was about a hikikomori trying to get through his condition with the help of a mysterious girl, but the second half devolved into a harem-esque titty chase where the main loses all personality and becomes a self-insert. The author said he sees himself in the main character, which makes sense as the author himself never got through his hikikomori condition, so he didn't know how to write the manga in a satisfying way where the main character becomes a healthy part of society. It's such a waste of potential imo.

😉 ikr...it's really one of the most relatable series I've ever watched. The sound track is so unique that sometimes it feels nostalgic. I too owe my friend a "thank you" for recommending me this beautiful anime. Anyways loved your thoughts about it. Have a great day.

Loved this anime as a 16 year old in late 2013 due to its realistic depiction of depression, a mix of dark comedy and memorable characters like Satou and Misaki. Also the music of Round Table and the Pearl Brothers, mainly Positive Thinking were great. (Although it was in this compilation) I dream of making a movie based on the series.

That's fair, I love this anime to bits but I always think the more you're like Satou, the more you'll love the show. But if you aren't (especially if you're not an otaku) then the start is a tough watch. I wouldn't say NHK is a deep "philosophical" story either, it's deep sure but more emotional. You're not gonna feel like you gain a degree in human psychology watching this show. But it gives you the vibes of looking out the window at 3am to the stars wondering how did your life come to this. I would suggest you push through because I think it's still a great show either way but if you're looking for the former then NHK might not be THE show for you. Hopefully this comment is a helpful setting of expectations, cheers! 😃
@zhroom86237 ай бұрын
@@neet4life279 The start will be a tough watch, I agree. Seeing it through to the end lets you see the other characters (like Hitomi) grow, too. Makes me think there's a little something for everyone, even if you don't identify with Satou.

It's the type of show that I didn't particularly enjoy watching as a non-Hiromori that self-motivates and wants to better myself naturally, but I'm glad it exists. And the OST is fire
