This is THE ONLY video/description that has actually helped me. every other video is terrible, with no real description on what angles or directions to move the analogy sticks. I feel much more confident playing the game now, I've played two periods and already understand how to win faceoffs,its 2 - 1 to my opponent but I still feel as if I can win and not just come up with a draw , thanks is a lot :)

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Winning face-offs is key to winning games. If you can't win more face-offs after watching this video, play defense or left wing.

Great videos Bacon... been using your tip on the two sticks to the opposite side and rotating up... great way to mix up my faceoff wins. I feel like after watching your videos this weekend, something finally just clicked for me and I really got the hang of the game... totally hooked on chell 14.

I'm already good at faceoffs but thanks for the tip on putting ur right stick at 3 o clock and left stick at 9 o clock then bringing both up at 12 o clock. I'm going to try it out looks helpful

I just bought 2014 and have been playing it all day. Thank you!! I went 7 entire games without winning a single faceoff to winning a few in a row now thanks to this video. I was beginning to think there was something seriously wrong with me.....

best advice ive heard so far. i still HATE this technique used for the NHL games, but i hate the technique for direct slapshots even more.

This has helped. I now get about 15-20% faceoff wins on Hybrid controls on Professional level. Better than 0% which I was getting. Thanks mate. And the name Bacon is awesome, as is the food. I like you. We should be friends.

Good tips but I think it would of helped if you had the controller in the bottom corner showing us what to do with the analog sticks, just would have been a little bit easier to follow.

I've use the quarter up method a lot and it works more than the quarter down. I would also change it up by holding down L1 or R1 (SONY) before the puck drop. Try it out!

For the forehand stick lift where you spin and kick the puck, does anyone know if you put the the sticks to the outside of the controller for both righties and lefties?

hmm, I'll have to check this out. On Rookie I usually win 100% of faceoffs, on Pro, just one step up, I usually lose 100% of faceoffs, even when turning CPU difficulty on faceoffs to zero and having players with very high (90+) faceoff skills. I use the Hybrid controller settings, I've always hated the skill stick controls, so that could be a factor as well. I still win most games, even losing 100% of all faceoffs, because otherwise I'm a pretty sound player. But it's challenging. I know it's weird to be commenting on a game this old, but I was told by tons of people on Reddit that this was the last good EA NHL game. Which is the same with FIFA, with 2015 or 2016 being the last Fifa game that was well received by gamers. Rookie is too easy, I tried using the sliders to max the CPU abilities, but it's still way too easy. Appreciate the video friend, even 10 years later my 360 still gets work.

Bacon I win 77% of draws and all you have to do is tie them up unless they do the forehand method you showed and in that case you just stick lift them

75% on draws, you just have to know which faceoff beats all of the other faceoffs. If you play somebody skilled at draws then doing the same one over and over just won't cut it

I dont win many faceoffs but I win alot and score bunces of goals because I play the body on them so I get the puck that way. PS. It helps having the puck love you as I get 80% of rebounds so therefor I score many goals

Hmmm I read it was kind of a paper rock scissors kind of thing on the draw. Usually if I see someone go backhand I tie up and win most of the draws. The charging up thing is an awesome tip though. Also good looking out on the spreadsheet.
@BaconCountry
@BaconCountry 11 жыл бұрын
Yeah in Theory the Tie up works against Backhand... the Stick lift works against Forehand.... I found when I got into division 1 it didn't work as well - which is why I made this video.

***** Yeah no doubt dude. After playing versus mode, HUT, and EASHL not sure if it is the case but I think a large part with faceoffs has to do with intimidation. I noticed if my center is taking some big hits I seem to lose way more draws.

***** u recently followed me on twitter @BoXy_19 which was awesome but i like winning my draws in the direction i want the puck to go like if I'm in my offensive zone i want it to the dman in the middle of the ice so then u have to automatically change ur stance for a lefty backhand for right side n forehand for the left side right or is there a way to keep backhand n still have it go to the right on the left side with a lefty? do u aim with the stance as well as the left stick both or either or plz reply Bacon or anyone that knows thanks I'm pretty good at draws anyways in div 1 just want this clarified

Think of a clock. The #3 is on the right, so 3 o'clock is the right. 6 is on the bottom, so 6 o'clock is down. And so on with the other numbers.
