The Settings I use together with Strategies: Controller Settings -- Skill Stick Camera -- Zone Auto Backskate -- Off Online Pass Assist Percentage -- 90% The other ones don't matter as much, but I like to have everything large like my Burger King fries. I mean, I have the puck size, highlight, and indicators on large so that it helps me see where the puck is and who has the puck easier.

Hmm that sounds rough. Right now lots of people that are really good from previous years are playing and going through the divisions, so you may have been matched up against them. Hopefully that clears up over the coming weeks. You are always welcome to check out my videos from NHL 18 which may help your gameplay.

Man! Your such a good amplifier so thanks for that! Will use your strategies except that control breakout I'd put the one where defender waits center to pick up the puck. That's because I have noticed that long passes rarely go threw enemy players. So it's usually easier passing from the neutral zone to the wingers having two options.

I really appreciate this. I used to be about 490 CR in NHL 18 and with my defensive game with the skill stick and poke I could stifle all these one trick ponies who score one timer after one timer goal. I can never do the one timer at the side of the net or the breakaway deke goal that the better players use constantly. All of my goals are unique. I've even mastered pulling the puck through my legs which I'm sure oohs and aahs my opponents because in over 300 online vs games I've never had one opponent do that move to me. I bought nhl 19 and I started getting 25 penalties a game and have adapted my poke check as best I can to minimize penalties. The stick lift triggers way too many penalty calls in NHL 19 too I wish they would change that somehow. I'm a 360 CR in NHL 19 now because I can't defend these bastards and their one timers at the side of net. It also didn't help that I use Ottawa and they have the worst team in the game it seems now. Anderson can't stop a beach ball in this version. I finally stopped chasing the puck carrier coming in the zone as others suggested and plunk my D right in front to avoid the one timers cross crease one trick pony goal. It's helping bigtime as I've won 6 of 8 now but these suggestions will likely help me even more. It also helps that I stopped using Ottawa and use Washington now THANK YOU

I've tried everything and I can't get my team to do the 1-4 when the other player has the puck, it only happens when I have the puck moving up ice into the zone. meaning I'm all alone and nobody to pass to.
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 6 жыл бұрын
Thats bizarre, its a defensive strategy. It should only happen when the opponent has the puck in the neutral zone. Its possible that they were already in that formation when you got the puck back so it takes them a little to get going. Id change the breakouts to be more aggressive so that theres some more kick in their step or move the energy/efficiency slider a few ticks

Also would like to see you use the new, select any player you want and does it work better than the normal press right trigger button

You mean for World of Chel? So throughout the beta I've preached the really big build, the largest you could get. A 6'9 Enforcer Dman. Dude wrecked everything, was hard to get the puck off of him, easy to steal pucks, never got injured, etc. With the new updates and tuners he's not as effective anymore. I've been enjoying the dangler, as it has given me a lot more creative room and mobility to do what I want. You hold onto the puck easier and you are more agile. As far as the new controls, I have made a video about that called the new player switching mechanic. thanks for the feedback! :)

I love this series and ur videos are great. I’m just not a competitive player. I just play on pro difficulty so do you think these strategies still would apply?
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think most would apply, considering my strategies try to keep everything passive to give you plenty of time to catch the CPU after a turnover, and blocking shots is one of the most important things you could get your AIs to do. If you want, you might be able to get away with Overload as a strategy since the computer won't skill zone you..but it's still a great innovative strategy

What does online pass assist percentage do?
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 6 жыл бұрын
The game tries to magnetize the puck to the player you were "trying" to pass to. If its at 100% it'll magnetize the most, if its at 0%, where you move the stick is where it'll go. The higher the %, the more likely the pass will go to a person, but it may not be the right person.

any advice for getting control of the puck in the defensive zone? I feel like i'm spending 99% of the game in my one end!
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 6 жыл бұрын
It's OK if your opponent is spending more time in your zone, as long as they aren't taking quality shots. If they keep taking bad angle shots, let them! It's hard to say specifically what to do, but I just force everything to the outside and when they try to force their way toward the slot for a shot or pass I'm there to shut it down.
@JulesOcean
@JulesOcean 6 жыл бұрын
I think Tight Point on Puck side Attack is better than Collapsing. Collapsing leaves the point wide open and Div 1 players will know to use that when you shut down low down. Also collapsing doesn't cover the one time receiving well, not as good as tight point because it's man on man. If you can play decent to good D controlling the player closest to the puck carrier you will find way more success against top end teams with that setting.
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 6 жыл бұрын
Hmm yeah thats a good reason to go tight point, but I think against most people collapsing is the way to go because of the amount of blocked shots you get. Leaving the point wide open is okay because its hard to score from there with D to D one timers being nerfed.
@JulesOcean
@JulesOcean 6 жыл бұрын
Brianstormed That's a good point. I tried your exact strats yesterday for 5 games. It worked well but again my computer D whenever I didn't control them didn't cover the cross crease at all compared to tight point (ironic i know). Also, 2 of the games they ragged my PP and when I asked why it was because I was using 1-4 lol. So I'll avoid that and 1-3-1 so I don't have to deal with that, but otherwise your settings are really good.

So I mainly just play Online Versus, and I started off hot this year, but in my past 15 games+ I can’t score, I can’t hit the net, the other team is ALWAYS in front of my shot, and it’s every team I play, no matter the team and it’s killing my record and my confidence, because most of the time I have the puck, move it around take shots, they miss or are blocked and I don’t know what’s going on. It’s like I don’t know something others do, I’ve lost to some bad players. 1. I need to know if Vision Control is still viable for shooting? 2. Any tips on what I can do to help my shots from sailing over the net all the time or just hitting the goalie in the chest when I do get a lane open? Also, do these settings pair with just Online VS? or more so just HUT? I’d even love to have a game with someone who’s solid at the game on PS4 play me a few times and critique me and tell me what’s going on. Was really loving the game but I just feel defeated now. Thanks.
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 6 жыл бұрын
Oh man Versus is a rough animal, the players you use have poor accuracy so even if you make the perfect play you won't score like you said. I played a top player in a series when the game first came out and I got crushed on the scoreboard, but I probably had more high scoring opportunities than him. That's what happens when you use the red wings lol. These strategies will definitely work for Versus, but the only shots you should be aiming for are those cross crease shots, rebounds, and maybe close in the slot. If you are going for anything else without using a sniper like Ovi or Laine or Kessel, it's pretty much a low percentage shot. Hope this helps!

Brianstormed so what would you recommend for line strats for versus? at one point i was ranked as high as ~#2500 at a 536 rating, now i'm down to a 450 rating and ranked ~#36000 a few days after! i keep losing a lot of games just to shitty luck. my defensive skills are better than my offensive skills. when the game is tied or i'm up, the strats work, but when i'm losing, what suggestions do you have when i'm losing? what should i change? also, have you experimented with the sliders so you dump more? is dump and chase viable yet? i love grinder games and i love grinder hockey. i notice even some elite guys have guys on their strong wing but you still have players on weak wing. what's the benefits of that? also what kind of dekes do you find most useful against defenders?

What makes a line switch happen
@Brianstormed

It tends to be energy based, once your line is low on energy and the puck is in a favorable position (deep in the opponents zone for in stance) it'll automatically change lines. You can manually change lines as well

When it's on Dump the AI will skate faster when crossing the line in order to be able to retrieve the puck, this will lead to alot of offsides taken by the AI when you are carrying the puck. That is the main reason to have it all the way on Carry. If you have it on Cycle the D will stay along the boards mostly receive passes from forwards on the perimeter, Shoot they will be towards the middle and creep deeper for one timer shots.

If you are playing with all players, strategies don't matter. With AIs, it's probably best to keep them as defensive and as passive as possible so they don't give up breakaways easily and they are always furthest back. I think maybe on defense they can be a bit more aggressive so that they can pressure the puck carrier.

The gameplay in general is solely programmed around HUT. With EA's sole purpose of tricking you into thinking you need better players to make more money (system's even implemented offline). Meaning, the team with the higher overall (3 overall points or higher generally) is going to have an advantage no matter what. This is where your artificial lag in a game comes from when you are playing a stacked, or better team. It's where lucky goals happen and momentum changes 10 fold. Ever feel like the other team has the upper hand all game? Yep, that's the way the game is designed, intentionally. I'm bringing this up because strategies will have little to no effect on gameplay when playing a better overall team. I enjoy your videos though! Cheers

@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 5 жыл бұрын
How are you playing? Are you doing 3s with two forwards and one AI? Two forwards in 6s? 4 skaters and one AI in 6s? It very much depends on how many AIs and what position they play so its tough to say exactly but I can give a few pointers.

@Brianstormed 5 жыл бұрын
Ah okay. In 3v3 your AI has to be really passive otherwise they'll give up a lot of breakaways. In 6v6s since you have AIs everywhere you just need them to be in the right position. Try this: 1-2-2 Aggressive (Forward helping with forecheck) 1-3-1 Trap/Forecheck 2 from the left, if you aren't getting enough help on forecheck then bump it to the right. Offensive Pressure - Aggressive Defensive Pressure - Puck Side Attack Defensive Strategy - Tight point to have your AIs stick to the opposition. Penalty Kill - Passive Box Powerplay - Overload PP carry - 0 Control Breakout - Strong Side Slant Power Play Breakout - Carry Quick Breakout - Close Support 3 on 3 - Passive Forward Lines - Crash the Net Carry - 0 Cycle/Shoot - 0 Efficiency/Energy - 10 Dont Block/Block - 10 Hold Line - 8 (This will let your defensive AIs push up on the play more) Cycle/Shoot - 0

Haha sorry but its the most beginner friendly strategy! Once you know how to beat it, the 1-4 just means you'll get plenty of breakaways and oddman rushes.

Well its either 1-3-1 or 1-4 depending on my opponent, it usually is 1-3-1 but for beginners the 1-4 is best. 1-2-2 Blue and 1-2-2 red are just so bad and really easy to pass through. They would probably only be good against opponents who like to circle back in the NZ.

I have never used any neutral zone trap during my NHL playing time, I can't stand trap hockey, I'm starting to get the feeling everybody playing nhl 19 now are using the trap as their defensive strategy and some games I play I find it nearly impossible to skate in their zone, let alone dumping and chasing. Another thing I'm noticing as of late is, a lot of the time when I'm in the opponents zone and go for a one time pass, the defender always intercepts it, like his stick is a magnet to the puck, frustrates the shit out of me lol

I tried this and lost 7 to 2. He had 7 goals on 12 shots. I hate this fucking game. Kids just skate right into my zone and I can barely break in still. I was so good at 18
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 6 жыл бұрын
Don't expect this to work on your first attempt. You have to buy into the system, understand how your players will act and then make your decisions based on that. At the same time, your opponent could have just been really good and strategies wouldn't have mattered much. Finally, the only strategies that affect your breakout/break into the offensive zone are the quick/control breakouts which I have it set to a far more defensive/passive style so that your players support you incase you lose the puck.

Can’t count how many games I’ve lost last minute. Seems no matter my strats...they skate past me no problem..and I’ve got a pretty good team already, so they aren’t stiffs. I get poked at their blue line...and the endless SWITCHING off to AI is really pissing me off. Play D your damn self!
@Brianstormed
@Brianstormed 6 жыл бұрын
Last minute goals are something that you have to try to adjust your gameplay for. Slow it down when you have the puck in the final two or three minutes and only go for the highest quality chances. Otherwise, cycle it around and wear down your opponent.
