truly comical. they didn't even change the fonts. and they're STILL using the same atrocious default celebrations as NHL 15. you still can't just any celebration and can only assign those non-default fancy ones in HUT to ONLY the triangle button. truly unreal how bad and unpolished the game is in every aspect of gameplay, presentation, quality of life, and graphics

Disappointing to see the no changes to the be-a-pro considering the changes they made in FIFA franchise. I like the whole "play only highlights" feature they have. I don't want to sim games because it sucks, but I also don't want to play a whole game, even with the sim to next shift thing it takes a long time to play through a season.

Grav's love the channel ;) When u mention the strategy changes, do u feel they actually go in formation like it suggests? I feel every year it explains what thr play will do and I find your AI teammates never actually go in the formation they are supposed to! What do u think..?

Quick question as offline player mostly franchise mode, did they finally fixed that 1. When you start new franchise it shows you your draft lottery no IRL lottery and 2. Can I finally see my teams logo at score board when in the game? Thank you for the video btw

This game is a non-option for offline players. So much false advertising. The presentation slider has been removed completely and the new pre-game intros are limited to 6 teams. Menu's are exactly the same with a colour change. Some quality of life changes but does that warrant my $100? Sketchy release for sure. So many glitches and bugs to start. Might be worse than 15 considering what console generation we're on and what they have the power to do with these consoles. They're straight up mocking the player base at this point. Continuously adding things nobody asked for including hockey bags which is the worst online progression system in gaming. Never listening to what their players would actually enjoy and love. But keep buying those HUT packs!

The stick lift gives me 3-5 penalties per game so far. Goalies are better, passing is waaaay better. New tactics are great, too imho

My biggest question is i play franchise. Did they add better line and team chemistry to franchise? And last question if u increase the salary cap does it just go to say the 100milion u set n stay there or does it go up in equal increments each yr for the set seasons duration u choose?

zegras goal is not new, they had that in nhl 06. EA likes to take features out of their games and reintroduce them years later and say it's "new"..

Can someone explain to me why I don't have the pre-game as it was advertised? Like the anthem, fans with light sticks, etc? Is it just my problem or is everyones game like this? I'm so confused.

Does anyone know how franchise drafting and player development goes when you have the 48 team option on? Does each team still have American League Affiliates? What does the league start to look like in 10 years. It’s the only intriguing thing to me and my only consideration in buying it this year

Still no college free agents, right? You can't send players you draft back to the KHL, SEL etc to develop. That kills franchise.

The custom franchise mode is 100% the reason i will buy it for the ps5 :) All Canadian Hockey League with all Custom Teams, like Thunderbay, Halifax etc

I just got the game downloaded, played for a couple hours before I go to sleep. There’s one major problem off the bat with missing replays. Rushed and condensed presentation is unacceptable especially when it was the main selling point of this season. No reason at all to remove it and they better patch it in.

Its a huge blow... they add so little new modes... why not just add and give us the chance to invite a friend to all online modes??? And they changed the cup celebration but no cup banner raising or raising retired numbers.. thats just to more animations to program. Sometimes i think there must be just 3 people work on this game... When finally other publisher come up with a nhl game...

at this point they truthfully need to take about 2-3 years and strip the game completely after nhl 24 and just release patches we pay monthly for until they fix this game because its so much that needs to be done is ridiculous.....the ref's the crowd the player movements the goalie movements and player and goalie a.i all need to be redone along with possible adding better coaches actually getting scans in the game.....and getting better commentary like find some announcers from college or even youtube for all i care and save some money to invest more into the game im sure its plenty of youtubers or whatever that would sign for 3-4 years and do the play by play commentary of the game it doesnt have to be big commentary and if it is you need to pay more or take more into account when recording audio because its not good i had a game yesterday i got 1 goal and 1 assist after the game the radio show in be a pro comes on and says i went pointless its like wtf........and last but not least please update the grading system in be a pro it was a play in be a pro where the other team was well past my bench and the coach decided to put me out there and they ended up scoring and they counted that against me saying i was out of position of course i was out of position because i never had a chance to be in position dufus.......like the stuff with this game is crazy

There is also one huge problem i have... when u search nhl23 on youtube... all these nhl game tubers... they just love to show HUT?!?!? I dont understand. And thats why ea never will change a thing. Because we sports game lovers.. not playing HUT want deph in modes and more ways to play the game with others... like having lobbies for online vs. Or tournament modes for playing with friends.. and on and on... but yeah as long as fan boys are promoting HUT and eashl they will not change a thing...in past decades sometimes modes were disappearing.. now they just keep running on that fantasy hockey wave... with all free promotion of nhl youtubers...

I was thinking the same exact thing. I was excited to search nhl 23 to see reviews and in depth looks but all I got was HUT videos from the top guys. Look, I love nasher and those others guys but I was pretty disappointed. They will make a video about how ea is barebones and buggy, then turnaround and post nothing but HUT content. That’s the cancer really, it’s because these big KZbinrs advertise HUT like crazy. I think if your only intention is to really only play HUT, then you shouldn’t even buy the new games because that’s what’s killing the quality of games. EA knows they can make more money off from HUT than they do for the actual video game itself.

The real issue is that the lack of new contents is a flaw with their business model- trying to release these games annually. Think about how involved it is to add something like Be A Pro mode (which I don't even thin is that great, but can see it was a lot of work). I guarantee that took at least 3 years to develop and implement. So don't expect to see major changes year to year- they probably end up with 10 months for software development each release, considering the physically release has to hit the shelves by the holidays. That's simply not enough time to add tons of features, animations, graphical enhancement, etc. But of course, they like getting the cash every release, so they are not going to stop doing it. Personally, I just wait for the price level to drop to a point where it's so low that I don't care if the enhancements are minor. Here we are about 5 months are release, last week I picked it up for $29 bucks a Target and have put maybe 10 hours into it. Already not my monies worth IMO

NHL 05, NHL 09, NHL 14, and NHL 2K8 and 2K10 would be my picks for best NHL games. There was also a game in the 90’s but I can’t remember the name of the game where you could beat up the opposing team and steal the Stanley cup after they won it and it’d count as if you’d won it after you took it from them which was pretty funny. Also a shout out to super blood hockey and bush league hockey which are hilarious arcade like hockey games.

The game feels so much better this year, although that's not a big improvement it does feel better. Goalies aren't as insanely op and you can actually score with snappers and slappers from different places on the ice. Last year you could only score with the one timer consistently it was terrible. The poke checks may be the best it's ever been as well. The last chance clearances and passes are always nice to see , GG man nice vid

It's a great game in the case you mentioned. Most people here are complaining it doesn't change enough from year to year and they're not wrong. I only buy it every few years or wait for a sale.

It is 100% a deep discount purchase. The game plays slightly better, but it is essentially the same game as last year, especially in Franchise (which is the most important mode to me). I immediately uninstalled it once I got into franchise and looked at it. They didn't even bother updating the menus or anything. Not worth full price unless you haven't played NHL 22.

I wish ea would sell nhl... the company doesn't produce ANY good games anymore and nhl is suffering hard the past few years. It's like they grab last years game, remove a feature or two and ship it out for 90 bucks then next year... Honestly sad

Its was everything NHL 22 shouldve been. TWF makes sense to use. Animations are better, gameplay is better, connection is better and flow of game is better. Overall its great and fun to play.

Why can we still not transfer our Franchise or Be A Pro from previous games? I'm fed up with starting all over again with every release, just wanna continue my existing one. In NHL 20 I created a whole team with stadium and stuff, but I don't want to do that over again, took me about 2 days to completely configure. So I'm still playing that in NHL 20 and my Be A Pro in NHL 21. If I could just transfer my saves or profiles, I would buy the new game, but like this I don't see any reason why I would.

Penalties were god awful for NHL 22 Any difference there ? Nomatter what sliders for "Penalties " i used it seemed very one sided.

The way they promoted the presentation only to have the full game seemingly locked in condensed mode is shady as hell. Only a handul of teams have on ice projections and they only last like 10 seconds.

Here's a thought that easports should move on with sports games. Create a new fully overhauled game every 5 years. In between years offer free roster updates and maybe a few 10-20$ downloadable contents/upgrades to make the game better over the years. This could "in theory" make the game better especially by years 3 to 5. Also, this give the opportunity for people to have a continuing career or franchise for multiple years before you have to move on to a new game.
