6:20 The Ai is still very obviously in need of an upgrade. This specific moment where the fastest player in the world Connor McDavid curls off on a breakaway. There’s other things too I notice like when players just stop moving their feet with the puck in the neutral zone and almost pause which is evident at 6:39.

The thing with stopping feet movement on the border of neutral zone is a good thing. Real players often use this to create space from defender, defenseman has to keep up with them and then the player on the puck slows down which creates separation from the defender.

Honestly the AI isn't worth freaking out about. We all need to realize that the game can only look and feel good as long as the other human(s) play appropriately.. I would hate to see what the EA team could do if they put all their efforts in upgrading the ai. You can easily control it in a versus match as long as you know how to use the playbooks.

Presentation is a tough sell now days. I'm pro presentation but the game in modern times caters only to the online community who don't want cutscenes and want to get through games as quick as possible because that's where the money comes from

The crows sounds so much more immersed in the game which is awesome. They don't just randomly cheer; it seems much more purposeful. Especially when one team would line up a big check and miss, the crowd would gasp and it seems much better than NHL 23. I also think the announcing sounds much more like a tag team effort rather than james cybulski constantly talking and cutting over to his partner like one tiem all period. They seem to be going back and forth and the lady is filling the air time between the whistles which hopefully won't get annoying but also seems good.

The graphics are much improved imo. I've played the beta and it was the first obvious improvement to me. I thought it was gonna look exactly the same but the improvements to ice/lighting and models are noticably improved. It's hard to tell by these videos but you'll see it on your screen

Ah man, I’m definitely not a hater but I do not like those celly animations. Makes the game look sloppy/cheesy. Nothing better then gaining speed then doing a nice sweep of the ice when you score a big goal

1. Too much focus on Arcade-tackling. Very unrealistic. 2. Goalies diving WAY too much. That will be a big problem if not tuned correctly. 3. Even during full CPU - McDavid with a breakaway and didn’t even try to finish. 6:21 Positives - graphics look nice.

I want NHL to be good but quite frankly its been the same thing for like 8 years and only minor improvements since then. Game ships with bugs all the time. New glitches every year. I'll give credit where credit is due...I think graphically the game does look better & seems a lot smoother but even though the crowd is louder they seem lifeless at the same time. Like the game needs more in game cut scenes. Show the staff running to clean & replace the ice....she the crowd reactions to the glass breaking or pucks going into the crowd like previous titles show the players interacting with each other maybe putting together a strategy or something like that like the replays are good but after the replay of a hit or goal show both players the one that got hit & the one that hit the player maybe have him looking up at the score board.....as far as commentary ray ferro should of stayed & they should of got rid of the guy talking he's terrible...….EDIT: Also Id like to add the this A.I in this game is probably the worst we've seen in years like the plays and the thing's there doing out there as I've watched more and more of this video make absolutely no sense at all

@JM-qn3tf I agree....I think if ea took the time to make a "Flex Cam" then they of definitely invested the time into fixing the team celebrations,player,coach,bench, and crowd reactions. Like I said it does sound alot better and looks alot better but they're constantly skipping things year after year. Like the players don't even go down the line like they use to after a goal that's what should of been for the flex cam. Player scores brief solo celebration, brief team celebrations depending on when the goal was scored obviously more important goals get longer celebrations maybe 10 seconds then show the players gets fist bumps from the bench like the real nhl

I wish they would have gone with an all new commentary but James Cyulski’s commentary seems to be somewhat improved than it was in NHL 20. The color commentary is great and I really like the crowd noise upgrades!

The game itself looks really nice, it actually resembles next-gen this year, thank god. The new color commentary is also nice, I'm not even a Ray hater like a lot of people, but frankly I could've dealt with James being out with him too. Commentary's okay. Not thrilled with the scoreboard being the same, I don't really like it, never have, I feel like it's a bit too flashy and takes away from my concentration. The boards don't bug me so much in actual broadcasts but I find them pretty distracting here, maybe in-action it's not as bad but based off of this, my hopes aren't high. I hope it's togglable or something. The fighting engine looks pretty much identical, which I know most people aren't playing the game for, but it's still due for an overhaul, it's dated. Also it's still a little cruddy that you can't have multiple fights at once in the background, I feel like that'd help immersion in big games between rivals. The fact that it's still not there stinks, but eh. Gameplay looks fluid, the goaltending doesn't look like total garbage and actually seemed half fair. Normally the player goalie gets nerfed and CPU goalie gets buffed during gameplay, that's how it's been since early Gen 7 but it looks decent here. It's not obnoxious and unfair, at least. It buffs the CPU goalie but it buffs yours as well, that's just good all around. I also like the momentum thing coming back, early Gen 6 games had the Emotion Meter which is either similar or identical in function, I LOVE that it's here, what I don't love is how it's visually integrated, it's distracting as hell. Between it and the boards, I'm gonna have a damn seizure I feel like. The post-goal cellys are whatever, I think they're improved but still look awkward as hell compared to real life, they're good but very... video gamey, a little bit like the scoreboard/presentation. I don't like it much, but it's consistent I guess. It's one of those Christmas buys once it's on sale, I have NHL 23 so just by default 24 isn't a necessity, but it looks solid enough.

Im not sure what everyone means with these graphics, to me they look pretty much exactly like 23... All they did was add a female commentator, the rest looks like the exact same copy and paste. I like the pressure thing because it decreases the luck factor of getting lucky goals with no possession, but the UI is a bit annoying and kinda takes away from the game so I'm not sure how I feel about it.

Welp the game has completely buffed the CPU goalie and nerfed my goalie it’s ridiculous they take a half assed shot and it goes in instantly I take a shot I lined up almost perfectly and it gets deflected every time almost
