You're incorrect on the picks sent by Minnesota. It was their own 2025 1st and 2027 2nd, Colorado's 2026 3rd, and Toronto's 2026 4th. Plus Hunt of course.

MN has great skating coaches and D coaches.....and we have patience. He will develop his skating to match what is needed in the NHL. Getting to skate with a very team oriented group of the best top 4 D in the league will help as wel. Guerin thinks ling term, not just right now. So, i definitely think we win this trade. Plus We are always in need of size to protect Kaprisov come playoff time, and this fits the bill nicely. This trade was for a cup run starting next year when we finally get to use another $15 million like the rest of the league does, cause that dead cap Suter/Paraise money finally falls off the books. This was to show Kaprisov that we are serious about making a cup push in the next 3-4 years, so he signs his next long term contract with us, as his 5 year bridge deal is over next year. And this along with our prospects and who we are able to buy with the extra $ we haven't had since the suter and pariase buyouts, is proving to kaprisov that its worth staying here🤘🤘

interesting you say jiricek is the "known commodity" when hunt's floor is significantly higher. he looks like a surefire 3rd pair guy at least. jiricek's skating hasnt improved since the draft, so he could never even be a full time NHLer if he doesnt fix that

Wild won and it's not close
@U_r_hopelessАй бұрын
I don’t think jiricek is a known commodity there is a decent chance he becomes a bust as his game hasn’t really progressed. Trading for him is really only a bet on raw upside
@volodyaulyanov2886Ай бұрын
Worth it when the picks percentage of working out is far smaller. Teams add 2nd and other later round picks all of the time for next to thing or pending free agents. Chances are they’ll get some of those picks back in a year or two
@filipcermak7207Ай бұрын
He progressed, in report it’s that everything is on nhl level except skating, personally I think he needs nhl minutes to get adapted to it something like Slafkovsky in his first season. He is otherwise dominating ahl and there should be no reason to still be playing there
@alexnass9349Ай бұрын
kind of reminds me of the griffin Reihart trade a little. kind of dont like Jirecek's attitude. Being on a nhl roster is not a privilege you have to earn it.
@mcj44Ай бұрын
I don’t blame him one bit. Clearly the blue jackets had no intention of actually developing him. Screw the “earn it” stuff, the jackets are not competitive and it’s only hurting their future to have him in the AHL or sitting in the press box. As for him, all he’s doing is trying to save his own career. It’s not too different from Askarov, who was buried behind a newly signed Saros. McGroarty and Gauthier are true examples of disrespect. Jiricek gave Columbus opportunities and they failed him.
