I think this is a great start to improving Franchise Mode. Getting a lot of the moving parts of the mode added, like NMCs and better contract negotiations, is gonna add so much more to the experience. I would still love to see the All Star Game come back. Hopefully they keep improving it like adding in ASW, outdoor games, more presentation in-game, the ability to retire new numbers, among other things.

@@redfluff48no you can’t, they have purposely taken options like that out of that game so you give up on all the other modes and play HUT, you know back in NHL 12 you could edit everything about a player? You could edit any player to be 7 feet tall and change their position and everything, these have been SPECIFICALLY taken out of that game so it’s less fun in order to steer the player base towards HUT, it’s a marketing strategy to get people to play the game mode that you spend extra real world money on (card packs).

All-Star game, Winter Classic game (generated after year one), simulation and potential revamped, Stanley Cup banner raising year after, 50 players roster, able to pick every teams in Custom League, import our own logos for jerseys and ice visuals, Full control roster option, edit players overall rating during franchise, create new templates for eras (rules, gameplay sliders, player losing helmet, etc.), three stars selection after each games, better comments about point streak, goal streak, etc. Full presentation backkkk! And the ability to edit player ages, that way after the draft you can move players to their proper teams. I have posted lists on the forum last year of things people were asking for. Seriously hope we see some of these. Also ability to sign AHL contracts, and contracts that allow prospects to play overseas, and not count as an NHL contract. For example, Heponiemi is on a Florida Panthers contract so they retain his rights, but he plays in the SHL, which is common practice with prospects. In game, this would count against the team's salaries/contracts, but in reality, it is a different classification of contract, and will not count towards your roster limit, neither do AHL only contracts.

@@GramCrackers13 Well, I like Franchise mode, but I'd prefer to be able to have Full Control. All teams, all AHL, edit players. It's offline mode anyway. Everytime I play I try to have the most accurate roster. Line combo, numbers, captains, etc. So if a trade like Laine vs Harris and 2nd pick occur, I can make it happen without having any problems. Or if Celebrini turns out to be 2nd in scoring and 90 overall rating instead of 80, I also can edit him to reflect more reality.

I think it's time for EA to explore the opportunity to use AI commentators. Imagine how crazy that would be. We would have infinite dialogs possibilities, they could describe more in depth a play and analyze it more deeply too. There's a mod in Skyrim where the NPC are AI voiced and they adapt so well yo what's happening in the game it's crazy, it's limitless opportunities. AI is a game changer and I think it will be the next game changer in sport games.

Adding elite players in the draft is stupid bc it's doesn't solve the problem. Goalies and Dmans dont grow. The top end talent isnt the issue it's bottom 6 and top 9 and top 6. They rarely get the nhl thats why the cpu is ending up with a defence core that loos like this after 5-6 years : 89, 86, 80, 79,78,76.

What bothers me in previous NHL Franchise modes is when your rebuilding. Got the coach you want. But the player you draft doesnt fit the team. Which is annoying as hell. You got to fire the coach and change the prospects/players etc… why cant you draft the player and let him develop into the system. So he can fit into the team through time like lets say 2-3 years. Looks like they havent fixed that yet.

Here’s my Franchise Mode wishlist for the next game: • Add the ECHL to franchise mode (Ability to play as the ECHL affiliate and even change ECHL affiliates as well as send prospects down to the ECHl affiliate) • Add the prospect tourney and training camp • Add the ability to sign players to PTO for training camp of sign to a PTO to fill in for a few games for an injury if you don’t want to bring any AHL guy up • Add the ability to make a Future Considerations trade and then complete said trade at any later date of the season • Add a banner raising ceremony after your team wins the division, conference, or Stanley cup • Ability to send players down the the AHL for conditioning stints • Ability to trade/trade for conditional draft picks • Add the All Star Game/ All Star Break festivities • Add private team events randomly through the season and offseason

Can you actually move through all of this smoothly, or is there still going to be lag spikes when simply switching screens, or hitting A/X to start a game? Also, have y'all fixed the save system? Because it's also been terrible for years.

Lots of positive changes that will add levels and immersion to the game.Really excited to play. One feature I’ve really been wanting would be the ability to see your GM stats Upon retirement. Your win loss record, awards your teams and players won. Trades (like total number of players and picks moved in and out). Total contract dollars signed. I play this game slowly and only run 2-3 franchises by the time the next game comes out and I can’t remember everything. Keeping notes myself is kind of annoying but that’s what I do right now.

Looks promising. But most important thing for me is to not have the super laggy slow menus on PS5 (from what i've heard its not such a big problem on xbox). It seems the core of the whole UI is the same so i guess it will still be extremely laggy and slow and considering that they added many more stats and things into the UI i fear it will be even more laggy and slow on my PS5. So even though i really like most of the things showed in this deep dive, i will not be satisfied until they fix the menus (so i guess complete rework because there must be obviously something very wrong deep down in the current code)

i like the UI changes like not having to flip through multiple screens to find out if a player wants to extend at the end of a contract, matchups, team leaders, etc.. Not at all a fan of more conversations. i dont want to have to convince a player verbally to join my team, throwing more money at them has always worked before, why do i have to promise them a spot on PP1 or give out NMC to a rental at the deadline, lets say? or have them not join because my fanbase is smaller than they want it to be or slightly less devoted. makes thing more complicated and i don't think anyone asked for more conversations with AI where they make stupid requests that don't help the team or get pissy when you assign them to a role that fits their potential but they're like "wHy Am I nOt On ThE fIrSt LiNe?!" "i WaNt MoAr IcE tImE!" this is why in previous games i always turn morale meetings off.

@@Ben.Mangels well i remember in the madden long shot mode you briefly played college (for a select number of teams to pick from with fake players) when they stopped making NCAA games. maybe the new NIL stuff won't allow NHL to do that. maybe in the future it could be an option.

A.I Generated players need headshots for their player screen. Such a small change that would make franchise mode so much better when you’re 10+ years in and most of your players are generated by the game. Instead we just have to look at grey heads when editing lines and checking stats

This series desperately needs a year or two off. No way did they just make the most irritating aspect of Be A Pro, the biggest addition to Franchise! The conversations wouldn’t be a bad idea, if it felt like the characters actually had a personality. But it’s all smoke and mirrors and shallow depth. Game went from a week one must have years ago to a Black Friday bargain bin game.

Would love to add trade conditions to franchise mode. Like it would be great to see a pick go to a different year based on how far a team progressed in the playoffs, or to protect a lottery pick. So far this is pretty great and it looks a lot more snappy but I would like to see some more redundancy removed with some of these menus. For instance, it seems like a lot of menu hoping to set and change the coaches preferred lines. Additionally it would be cool to see some more generic options for how you want your lines to be played from the coach such as chemistry focused, offensive focused, defensive focused, youth focused, veteran focused or play-style focused. So depending on any of those players will be deployed in much different roles

they never said it would be expected for NHL 25. They said they are looking at implementing a new form of connecting into a future game. This year they already confirmed 25 wasn't that game so most likely NHL 26 is my guess. I am ok to wait as long as they make it work 100% out of the gate.
