All W changes. Only concern is I hope the conversations aren’t super repetitive like previous years. Always having one option give the positive outcome made it boring. This NHL it looks like there will be more conversations than ever before so hopefully they handled it well.

I really like all the changes especially the ability to move draft picks outside of franchise mode. Plus having box scores and tracking the players rewards make it so much easier to go deep into franchise mode. A Major improvement over last year

One thing i lowkey wanted like nba franchise mode can be 80 years long , sometime i draft a player 6-7 years after i start and cant see the rest of his career

Nhl franchise is 25 years, you’ll see 18-19 years of that player.

Yeah they really need to incorporate longer franchises. The legacy aspect doesn’t really feel there if you go through 1.5 franchise players careers in one sim.

I love this, I really do. But this feels like Franchise Mode is finally at the minimum expectation based on other sports games. I would have liked some innovation, but this is a good start. Hopefully its not another like 10 years before they address the mode again. Step in the right direction, but I am hoping for more in the coming years. This is enough though, as someone who really only plays and enjoys Franchise Mode, for me to justify buying the game. It might still be a Christmas time buy on discount, but still.

It really does feel like the bare minimum in terms of innovation, comparing to games like NBA 2K. I like the new features, it’s a step in the right direction but I don’t feel we should be hyping it up as much as we are. Hopefully EA can continue raising the bar year over year, but I doubt it.

Love the updates, I just wish they would add who got an assist to each goal when you're simming through it, rather than just showing the goals. also, add who took each penalty when a powerplay starts.

(big upside to playing in FLA; terrible for Cdn teams). The signing negotiations, too ... ugh. This is the first time I've been excited for GM mode - i didn't even buy NHL24 because I got tired of the lack of the mode improvement

Changes I think still need to be made by next game. 1-2 are super easy and should be easy. 3-5 are more complex. 6 is a pipe dream I know. 1. Some sort of All Star game - I don’t even care for the all star game but it’s unacceptable to be on PS5, on 2025 and we still don’t have one, when we USED to have it. It’s insane to me. (In reality I should get to choose and adjust the format. 3 on 3 tourney, east v west, fantasy draft, etc.) Literally how do we NOT have it?? 2. IIHF or Olympic mode competition - Easily set the mode aside, to do a little tournament and return. The game already has tournament mode, just add it to the Franchise with very minor tweaks. With Olympics coming back this should be an easy sell. I want all 3. World Juniors I can send prospects too, IIHF made of non playoff teams you can play in a seperate tournament, and Olympic teams with full best on best. 3. Leadership System Overhaul - Instead of just ‘presence and leader’ you should say be able to get a total of say, 50 points. You gradually build them up over their career by playing more seasons, going to the playoffs, being in lockerooms with other great leaders, being the C or A for an extended period of time. Guys like Crosby should have a 45+ score while say a newer vet might have a 20+ score, and a young guy like Bedard whose still learning should be need to build those points. This gives reason why you may choose an older grizzled Giordano, as opposed to a rookie with similar overall for your playoff run. 4. Dynamic Overall stats - if a player is playing abnormally well, say an 82 overall has 12 goals in their last 15 games, they should get a temporary boost to their overall for being hot. If they can maintain the production they keep it, if they don’t they fall back to normal. Similarly, when in playoffs, these should be more dramatic, maybe someone can earn a playoff performer badge making it easier and quicker to get hot in the playoffs. Or someone is streaky and not doing well dramatically decreases their offensive stats. 5. Rivalry/Intensity system - So that a Tuesday night out of conference game, and game 7 against your rivals feel different. Have a system that tracks things like recent playoff past performance, maybe in season player injuries, a star player signs with the rivalls. Those games should have bigger hits, maybe bigger energy boosts after a goal, some players can get a stat boost etc. the playoffs should feel like playoffs, not just extra games. 6 (This is a Pipe Dream I know) PWHL Mode! - I know this is asking a LOT. But I love how NBA 2k has WNBA mode, which is literally the same exact mode, but with less teams and games like the WNBA. If they’re actually committed in promoting the PWHL, having fans be able to actually play as a team and rebuild them in a miniature/smaller scale franchise mode, with a full draft, and playoffs, would go a long way.

Great video! this has me really hyped towards exploring and creating my own dynasty ! keep up the content! They better have a way to regulate the NMC/NTC protection lists! You can't have computer going crazy giving them out to everyone or all the players requesting them. or that would seriously diminish one of the most fun aspects of the game Trading !! Okay, i like no movement clauses as it wirks for olayers on your team. My question is what if you want a player from another team thay has your team on the NMC. Can you offer enough for him to go, or can you talk with the olayer to convince them? I am wondering if this is missed in the video, or doesn't affect you trading for players.

I never EVER thought they'd go this in depth on some of these things, but I'm here for it. I vastly prefer injuries on for immersion and stuff, but I've been playing with them off cause it's so damn annoying. Being able to do that again will be hella fun (now getting depth players matters again).

The contract interest has been needed for a while. Glad to see it being added. You could literally just offer any player a little bit more than their asking price and they’ll almost always sign with you. This is way more realistic.

Kinda was hoping for more expansion capabilities (I.e. expand to 34, 36, at different points, etc.) and customization tools (I.e. text around center ice, new logos, jersey designs), but this is a good starting point. I like all the depth they added. Also, the top bar where it shows the player profile pics…the logo placement and overall design is giving me NHL 07 vibes…

Not sure it's enough to tip the needle for me. I've been saying for years Be a GM Career would be far more challenging than Franchise Mode. Start your career in the CHL/Europe. Harder to build teams with age limits, recruitment to Europe, etc. If you do good, interview for NHL jobs and go from there. Option to tie be a pro into it, where you start your GM career at the end of your NHL career. Idk... The entire Franchise approach does nothing for me. I don't care about upgrading bathrooms, setting promotions, whatever. I think I've toggled it off every time since the year it was announced.

I love what they did for offline mode and now. I will pre-order might not be perfect but it's closer to the real thing. Still think there are pieces that they could add to make things more realistic and align with the excitement/time period. I e rookie games, preseason, update the trade deadline, draft etc. let you play games with the players you have on ur watch list

One thing that genuinely concerns me is load times. In previous games and other ea sports games, conversions r clunky and laggy. Also jump between screens in games, we have seen lag. Maybe they fixed this…. Or improved the speed of it.

I always do a team called the giants as an expansion team and only ever have guys 6'2" or taller so I'd love a way to sort this in player search or trade screens as currently the only place this is located is in draft screens.
