EA NHL intros don't get any better than this one. I still remember watching the intro footage with the voiceovers: 1) "Are you willing...to donate...your body?" - Pronger crushing Bordeleau (or was it Turgeon?); 2) "Got a problem...with authority?" - Jason Arnott slamming the penalty box door shut; 3) "Would you stop a speeding bullet?" Fuhr's incredible glove save on Roenick's blistering slapshot; and 4) "Are you afraid...of the masked...man?" Felix the Cat Potvin turning his head slightly to look into the camera.

This was Bad A back in the day! Still bad to the bone it gives you chills doesn't it? Got you pumped for a game to play that would never work because your green computer sucked some days ah! I used think my computer would crash sometimes just because of this amazing intro it was to much coolness for a lame 98 Windows.. I would just put the CD in to just watch the intro and never play the game. That's a good intro where you would rather watch that over and over again then play the game. Plus the fact the intro is still in my head after all these years and here I am writing a comment wasting my time on how much I liked it back in the day. Even my grandpa wanted to play hockey after watching that intro and never skated once in his life...

Awesome. Excellent. Terrific. I remember it pretty clearly and I still have the CD. I also remember I was so impressed when I bought a 3dfx (APAC Voodoo1) for the first time....I also remember I was even typing a message in Outlook Express asking EA Sports if they were going to release NHL99. I never sent it, though - I didn't have access to the internet then. I do miss the '90s... But it was too bad that it was really easy to score a goal in the game itself. I got really disappointed. Luckily, they mostly fixed that in NHL 99. Go Ducks :-)
