Not gonna lie at first I was little confused on why Philly would take Provorov at 7 when they already have a lot of really got defenceman coming up, and Crouse fit the bill perfectly. In the end they made a smart decision in drafting the best player available, and good on them they arguably got the best defenceman in the draft at 7, scouts are even saying he is NHL ready, and wouldn't be surprised if he was in the lineup season opener.

As an Oilers fan I have to say the oilers made excellent moves based on team needs, I wasn't happy with the trading of 6 picks to acquire what they did, but Tambo and MacT better take notes, if they decide to be GM with another team, sure Reinhart and Talbot could be crapshoots, but atleast management did moves that should have been done years ago

As a Rangers fan I doubt Talbot will be a bust since he replaced the king for twenty something games and helped get the Rangers to the playoffs but there is always that chance because I haven't seen him play without the Rangers defensive core supporting him

As someone who scouted this draft class intensely, the only good choice of the 3 first rounders of Boston was Zboril. DeBrusk is a good prospect, but there were better players available so that was an average pick, and then drafting Senyshyn was way out of left field. Senyshyn was a late 2nd rounder in most mock drafts, and they inexplicably drafted him 15th.

I looked into Senshyn since I knew they wouldn't just take him. He was a OHL rookie, started the year as a depth player, barely playing at all, as the year went on, he got more points and played better. finished 6th in OHL RW ppg. Nice pick by the Bruins, but BARZAL was there!

I've watched seneshyn all year cause he plays for my hometown team the hound he's played great but I think Boston could have waited to the second round. Also seneshyn I think will be good because he's still very young and projected second round already

I watched Senyshyn a lot this year as well and what I really like about him is his speed. He was hands down the fastest guy on the Sault Greyhounds and that was a team that had guys like Darnell Nurse, Jared McCann, and Sergei Tolchinsky most of his goals came from using speed up the wing, beating the defender and then cutting to the net. He still has a lot to work on such as finishing when he gets the opportunity and his hands are ok, but not great. If the Bruins let him develop he could turn into a good player, however all that being said I think the Bruins took him a bit early they probably could have waited to draft him (2nd round probably), but it is by no means a bad pick like people are saying.

Im kinda confused why Andrew Mangiapane went in the 6th round to Calgary, the kid had 104 points (43 goals) in 68 games, seems like a 1st or 2nd round player to me.

It just has to do with him being a late bloomer. The rest of these kids that are 18 and in there first draft, came on to the scene and showed why they should be drafted. Mangiapaine is in his second?? draft I believe. Clearly he didn't have what it took to be drafted two years ago. Another reason is, that you have to rush these guys to the AHL faster. When you draft an 18 year old they have to go back for at least two years, than an option between the A and Jr. With Mangiapaine, he has to be ready to play against men, at least by next year. If he isn't than he would have to go to Europe or Canadian University.

My thoughts on our trades: Hamilton Trade: I'm not going to try to defend it. Shitty trade. Lucic Trade: I like this one. The first round pick made sure we got DeBrusk who I wanted us to get, Jones can be a trading asset, or we can trade Subban. Also, we got rid of a bonehead who embarrassed the organization and we also had wingers like Griffith and Pastrnak pushing for top 6 minutes. In Sweeney we trust.

louis troxler Juulsen is good, reminds me of Bieksa, has a big slapper and can hit....also was playing with Scherbak so there could be a chemistry with him...Vejdemo is decent ...theres a highlight video up now if you search it up on Google...Nobody knew who he was except Timmins...and we have faith on Timmins lol...and Bracco is small sized so obviously wouldnt end up with the Habs lol...Remember that the Leafs also got Timashov, he could be pretty good! About Konecny or Sprong, 1st: Habs drafted multiple 1st rd forwards in the last drafts 2nd: Konecny is pretty good and Sprong is skilled but I heard that Daniel has a bad reputation on his behaviour (Ho-Sang like)...not sure about that but I heard that ahaha...so there you go....the rest of the pics are not interesting for the Habs imo...but Simon Bourque was ranked 76th so we never know about him

Debrusk is a great north south player. I saw him him play in swift current while visiting family. In that game he ended up scoring both goals in a 5-2 loss, and seemed to have a lot of jump in his stride.

As a Canucks fan, I'm pretty sad Lack went to Carolina. Linden or Benning said they're confident Markstrom will mature, but that's their opinion. Why take that chance when you have a guy like Eddie who you know will mature & has already, leading us to the playoffs? If Miller gets hurt again, I'm a lot more worried since we don't have a guy we know can become #1 on such short notice & do very well.

Zayn Buster Well to be fair, Miller only got hurt because of Hansen. And of course they are thinking about the future in goal tending. They let Lack go because he's a UFA next year and only getting older. They signed Miller because he's an experienced vet to let Markstrom take over, and have Demko be ready for the backup. Miller's contract has always been a bridge contract for Markstrom and Demko; but mainly Demko.

Reinahart's 8 NHL games he played this season were not tbd best... He just looks like a defensemen you throw in to fill up a spot (which he did). Big kid, doesn't use his body at all, honestly no clue how his future will be. Happy with Barzal and Beauvillier.

Calgary had an incredible draft! They traded away their 15th overall for Hamilton and with that 15th overall they were going to pick Kylington because he was projected 20th overall. They ended up picking him up with the 60th pick!! And late in the draft they got Mangiapane!! He was 8th overall in scoring in the OHL!

Just because he was ranked 38 to be exact doesn't mean he has to get drafted in the second round.some People who were ranked in the first round didn't go until the second round. Basically Johnny what happened with Boston is they got the three consecutive picks not expecting to pick with all of them. However, they couldn't trade any of the three picks and chose a player that they could've traded down to acquire.

My thoughts of Boston's picks: Zboril - Exactly who I thought they'd get. I'm happy with this one, we could use an all-around defender with great potential. Zboril is that guy. DeBrusk - A lot of people hate this one, but I like it. He is a supremely smart player, an outstanding scorer in the rather defensive WHL (broke a record for most goals scored in the first year of draft eligibility) AND he can defend. He honestly deserved to be projected higher than he was, so I'm glad Boston got him at 14 Senyshyn - Oh dear. Why on Earth would you get him with a 1st round pick when you have 3 seconds?????? We could have had Barzal AND this guy! Come, on Sweeney, he's an alright little player, but not a 15th overall pick. Carlo - Big Bad Bruin type defensive defenseman who could end up a great to-4 guy. Exactly who Boston was gonna draft according to everyone.....nothing to see here. JFK and Lauzon - I honestly have no clue who these guys are, ubt maybe they are good.

Brock boeser was the leading scorer in the ushl. He has an awesome shot and he's a good power forward that can hit. I know many fans are complaining that we shouldve drafted konecny but look at our prospects we have enough centres. I think this was a good draft for us Benning knows what he's doing

I'm really happy with Marner. Yes he's small, but look at Tyler Johnson. He models his play after Kane and hopefully he does end up at his level. He's also a nice kid with a good personality and good ethic. Him, Nylander and JVR have potential to be a scary line. And then with Dermott, he played with Mcdavid and Strome which helped, but I saw him play in Oshawa and he looked pretty good, needs to work on his shot though.

Senyshyn and Garyanov were both reaches, but I like what I have heard about Garyanov. I keep reading scouting reports and reading that he has great hands, a wicked shot, drives the net, and dominates the game when he puts in the effort, he is almost like a lesser-Nichushkin. Senyshyn however...that one was risky.

Flyers traded Grossmann and Chris Prongers contract the Arizona for Sam Gagne. Good trade. Flyers free up cap space and plan to maybe buy out Gagners contract which means even more cap space to work with in the offseason. And Drafting Provorov, the best defensemen in the draft in my opinion, was great because scouts say hes nhl ready and he will be the cornerstone of the Flyers defense for years to come.

hamilton will have great success in calgary.. with all their prospects, they will be cup contenders in 1-2 years for sure.. im a boston native and the lucic trade was great, hamilton i was a bit confused though but doug didnt want to stay here so why make him stay.. we have some good prospects from the draft (zboril, debrusk) savards cap finally hit, we got hayes (big man in front of net) and beleseky + rinaldo who im absolutely stoked to watch.. were back to the big bad bruins it seems, but we will have to see.. overall im content with sweeneys performance this off season

Zboril: A good and big defenceman can put a hard clapper on net Senyshyn: As a Hound fan Senyshyn is a really fast player, but there were alot of other guys out there like Barzal or Konecny. He was listed as a early/late second rounder DeBrusk: Hes a good prospect he can score goals but hes not as good as some players like Barzal.

The 1st 2 picks for the Bruins were great. Zboril will be a nice gritty defenseman who really fits Boston's style. Debrusk is a great goal scorer who will compliment Kreici and Pastrak well. I don't know much about the 3rd pick, all I know is that if they took him that early, there must be something special about him. As for the 2nd round, they STOLE Brandon Carlo, unbelievable pick as he was projected to go around 22. They got him 37th. From what I remember he is around 6'5" and should turn into a great top 4 (maybe top 2) defenseman. I think they traded away the other 2 picks but I don't know for what. Overall, I think the only trade that didn't make too much sense was the Hamilton trade. But I will say, i think the reason they wanted those 2 picks was to try and trade their 3 consecutive picks up to a higher slot to get Hanefin. I am still confused why they didn't take White or Konecny, but there is a reason for everything.

I'm a bruins fan and the third first rounder (Zachary Senyshyn) is really good. What people don't know is that the bruins drafted what THE TEAM NEEDS. Senyshyn is a speedy offensive player. Debrusk is a goal scorer. They got 2 defensive defenseman in Zboril and Carlo (a huge steal btw).they got one of the best goalies in the draft (Vladar) Plus they got Jakub Eriksson who was said can be a huge offensive producer if he can work on his offensive game. I think a bright future awaits

After day 1 of the draft, as a Bruins fan, I was pissed. However, day two was a great day for the Bruins. Taking Carlo 37th? That's a steal, also having two other second rounders is nice. We did free up a little cap from Looch and Dougie on day 1. After reading more up in Senyshyn he looks like a player that fits our team but I just don't agree with taking him 15th over guys like Barzal, Connor, Konecny. Carlo is just like a Dougie Hamilton, 6 foot 5 right handed. Not a bad day and Sweeney and the B's are not done

As a Bruins fan, I am okay with the Lucic trade, I wasn’t surprised though I thought he brought a lot of energy. We needed another back up goalie because we didn’t have it last year and Rask was exhausted by April. I think trading Hamilton was a huge mistake we had trouble getting consistent Dman play all year and now you trade a maturing Defensemen for Senyshyn, who is barely 18. We need forwards but we should not trade Dmen for them. Jake Debrusk seems like a good choice, as long as they don’t trade him in two years. Zboril ans Senyshyn won’t be ready for at least a year so I guess we will see. Why was Chiarelli fired if we are still giving drafted players away?

I'm a Bruins fan. I don't know what the hell Don Sweeny is doing by trading Hamilton, but Lucic was a smart move. We don't need Luc anymore. But I have no clue about the draft picks, but we got a lot of prospects. I don't know how good they are, though.

Boston 13th and 14th pick I thought were good but the 15th was a surprise I thought they would pick up Colin white because he fits there style of play. Also Sweeny said he offered Hamilton 5.5 - 7 million a year but he did not take it and Boston tried to sneak in McQuaid for 4 years at 11 million when they have Trotman the same type of player for 850k a year

Bruins got Zboril to replace Hamilton. Almost same style of play as him and good offensive awareness. They got DeBrusk and Senysyn to battle for a spot to replace Lucic. Put DeBrusk on a line with Krecji would be lethal and Senysyn to stand in front of the net on the PP. It all makes sense on the end

Lots of analysts making comparisons of Marner and Bracco to Patty Kane. Not bad at all. I'm also very happy with Detroit picking up Svechnikov. Big, tough Russian kid who can fire on the net hard and accurate. Can bust skulls too which is always nice. If Detroit retains Mantha and he turns out like we hope, then Detroit's future is already set and ready to grow.

Im not upset with us trading Griffin Reinhart to be honest. We have guys who are going to be NHL ready quicker like Pulock and Mayfield who have more size and strength. I like the picks we made as well Barzal and Beauvilier are going to be good players. Going from 0 1st round picks to 2 was great. Lets go Islanders

You know what, Edmonton may compete for the playoffs this year. They have a decent defensive core, but Talbot is the wild-card player here. If he plays very well, then Edmonton will make the playoffs, no questions asked.

The Senyshen pick was a total disaster. Dude wasn't projected to go for another like 30 picks, even if your scouts thought he was the best player available at that pick you almost certainly could have traded down ten or fifteen spots and still gotten the guy. The Hamilton trade was really bad and the Lucic deal looks like a wash right now, but Boston really blew their chance to have an OK day with those three picks.

Antti Raanta got traded to the NY Rangers from the Blackhawks to be the Rngers new backup goalie to Lundquist and the Blackhawks are gonna have salary cap problems so they will trade a least half there team in the offseason The ones that will for sure get traded from the Hawks is Patrick Sharp and Bryan Bickell I'm really disapointed to see the Blackhawks Offseason we won't be as good next year.
