This has got to be up there among the best draft years in NHL history (maybe after 1979, 1988, and 2003 this would be 4th but by the end of all their careers could be higher). Rantanen at 10, Boeser at 23?? They are like #1 picks today. Eichel and Marner also could be #1 picks, and of course McDavid is.

Apparently, there was an issue about his interview, from what I heard. He was too self-confident? Arrogant? Thats what announcers said about his drafting in one of the games Ive watched last year.

Here are my analysis for picks 1-30 #1 no analysis needed #2 has some great years ahead of him #3 if he doesn’t turn it around in a Chicago he’s a major bust #4 incredibly good with the Leafs #5 meh could’ve been better #6 another potential bust but he’s still young #7 flyers #1 dman right now #8 dropped off since his rookie year but still doing good #9 having a breakout year with the Sharks #10 daddy Rantanen is god no questions needed #11 another bust was supposed to be a steal but NOPE #12 still has time but has to hurry #13 has to hurry if he wants to make an impact with Boston #14 very good top 6 forward #15 why was he even picked here #16 face of the Islanders incredible skill and speed #17 next Guy Lafleur with that speed and hair #18 future Norris trophy winner #19 not as good as his brother but could make an impact when healthy #20 good defensively but not offensively #21 good second line forward for Ottawa #22 not doing good in the ahl but can still be good #23 incredible goal scorer will win Maurice Richard Trophy one day #24 very good forward for Philly best years are ahead of him #25 could be a solid third line center for the Jets #26 good dman for the Canadiens #27 meh could be better for Anaheim #28 Isles got a steal here in him #29 has potential to be a good defensive defenseman but has to show it #30 can be good but needs to be developed right
