sports memory is weird- we remember long standing records and the feelings associated with wins and losses- and even scorn but we always seem to forget the playoffs are not the regular season- Im prolly not the only one to pen the cats over boston in my bracket but I do feel smart for it now. actually toronto moving on and new york not were my only miss predictions so far. my confrence finals is Cats- canes Stars-oil. 1 down- 3 more left. lets see if that pipe dream cane stars finals finally happens for me (Ive wanted it for decades now as both are my favorite teams- with dallas being my homer.)

captain clutch? john tavares has won TWO playoff series in his career. drafted in 2009, won a series in 2016, won a series in 2023. took the leafs 10 tries since they got him to finally eliminate an opponent when they had the chance. the isles IMMEDIATELY improved upon tavares' departure, as well.
