The molded skates from the early 80s were odd too. They looked like the early Rollerblade skates.

Thank you for creating this bio. I lived in Sarnia and watched him play, he was the fastest out there. It’s too bad it didn’t work out for him in the NHL.

Ahhh, yes. Sid is chronic yapper. Especially in his younger years, when he was less good at knowing when NOT to talk back.

The Rat is a noble animal. Resilient and able to adapt to all environment. Smaller than most, yet all fear the Rat because of his cunning and intelligence. The Rat will get it's prey one way or the other. Are we talking hockey here ?....

Grew up going to the Kalamazoo Wings and Dude...The team was fun but holyhell! Was too little to remember but my Dad and family have stories about this team in the 2006 UHL Playoffs. Still going to K-Wings games (still in the ECHL) but what a wacky time.

The biggest break ever for Chicago, snagging an amazing talent like Savard who got passed over for a guy who turned out to be a bust. I was still in high school then, I wish I could say I loved watching his rookie season, but I can't say that for the simple fact they Hawks had no TV contract and actually started that season with no radio either until a crappy FM station picked them up after the season started.

Osgood always seemed to get crapped on by not just fans, but the team. When it came down to it, he was a strong goalie who came through when Detroit needed him most.

I can remember, before Lindros was dealt to Philly, he was actually traded to Chicago on draft day. Turning on the TV and that's what they were reporting before the draft started. Turns out, the Hawks owner, old man Wirtz, pulled the plug on the deal at the last second. He's the same a--hole that blacked out all home TV games for 3 decades! For a few years they didn't televise road games either, one year they didn't even have radio until a tiny FM station picked them up after a few weeks. Yeah it was that bad back then...

I remember when Robert Lang left the red wings. His first game back, maybe preseason, and i was there during warm up and yelled "we hate you Lang" and he heard me and looked my way. I liked robert lang, was bummed he left, made a great 3rd line center. I still feel kinda bad about it lol

Knights were gifted a good team. It's not a conspiracy it's just the truth. The Kraken were given a pretty awful team in comparison even though they also were a single team expansion. And it makes sense, money wise they needed the Knights to draw attention in a city which was getting other sports teams in the area.

The entire population of Canada is lower than California alone. The LA kings have a potential fan base larger than all of Canada combined. That's the vast Canadian conspiracy

The rule is perfectly fine and needed. Otherwise you would have goalies and defensemen purposely dislodging the net.

Problem with Canadian teams ? There are 8 teams in Canada bud . How long since 1 has won a cup ? The weather sucks , the travel is brutal , the cities are small and lack accomodations , etc. Why would any sane player who didn't grow up there want to play there . Gmab

I was just about to comment that. It was the no show employees who got paid. The players were treated like they were a part of the Mafia. And paid like one.
