Larry Playfair would just hit you once because he knew if he kept throwing them he could really hurt you. The greatest fighter who rarely fought bc no one wanted to be hit by his anvil of a fist. Tiger Williams ever put that in his book.

Very true. He was also the only guy jay miller and lyndon byers said they were truly afraid to make mad. When asked about why he never fought playfair clark gillies said “because when playfair was out there you didn’t screw around”. Don cherry is on record saying he would always tell his guys to just stay away him. Do NOT get him going. Just leave him alone.

The “Bruise Brothers”. Bob Probert and Joey Kocur in Detroit.
@mirandasalinas9412
@mirandasalinas9412 Ай бұрын
The" Bruise Brothers" was originally founded in Philadelphia. Dave Brown and Daryl Stanley were referred to as the Bruise Brothers. T shirts were made and sold at games. The Red Wings fans copied the Flyers fans. During the1980's decade the Flyers owned Probert . Probert couldn't win a fight vs Dave Richter or Rick Tocchett on Dec 14, 1985. Probert lost to Craig Berube in March and April 1986. Probert lost to Dave Brown on February 23 , 1988. Probert lost 1 fight to Jeff Chychrun in Jan 1989. The Flyers were the toughest, meanest bunch on the scene in the 1980's decade. Add Ben Wilson to that mix, and it was a landslide.

@mmunchie69 Ай бұрын
Tocchett never beat Probert and don't remember Chychrun actually beating him. Behn Wilson was afraid of him and Brown jumped him per usual as a Flyer and Probert turned that fight around and floored Brown. Want to watch a good fight Miranda watch John Wensink, Willi Plett, Nick Fotiu, Bert Wilson, or Dave Schultz beat up your boyfriend Behn Wilson. Wilson won his share when guys ran out of gas. Curt Fraser was smacking him around and so was Tiger Williams until they ran out of gas. His own teammates didn't like Behn from what I heard.@@mirandasalinas9412

I have him at number 13 all-time greatest fighter . Strong huge man and a long reach supporting a sledgehammer right fist. Boogaard wrecked several opponents into the ice sheet. Sad that he passed on so young. I'm sure he could've been a definite top 10 fighter if given the opportunity. George Laraque said he was wary of Boogaard. Laraque won 1 fight . The others were draws with maybe a slight edge for Boogaard in one of them. Laraque was more of a wrestling, grappling styled fighter who was famous for the takedown. Boogaard was a better power puncher 👊

Dave Brown demolished the most bodies into the ice sheet in NHL history. Brown was once voted the most feared fighter by the NHL enforcers in the first edition of Tough guys Magazine. Search on Google - George Laraque the only fight I ran away. Stu Grimson's book reveals that Dave Brown was the most feared fighter in the NHL. Brown was definitely the number 1 most feared and destructive menacing puncher to Drop the gloves. Gord Kluzak, Ken Baumgartner and Tim Coulis got busted up orbital socket bones. Jim Kyte fractured cheek bone. Stu Grimson a caved in face and busted orbital socket. Dave Brown in an interview on the Knuckles Nilan podcast . Brown reveals that he played light at 210 lbs too 215 lbs. He stood 6" 5" tall and lanky. Pure evidence that he wasn't on steroids or anything of Illegal type drugs. Imagine Brown on steroids at 230 lbs or more? Body bags and funeral services for opponents . Probert was 225 to 230lbs. Laraque was up too 245 lbs. Twist was up to 250lbs. Grimson was up to 240lbs. McSorley was up to 230lbs. Brashear was 225 too 230 lbs. Kocur was up to 215 lbs. Lil midget Tie Domi was up to 200 too205 on the roids. Nilan was 5" 11 at 200 lbs. Many of the fighters took roids but not Dave Brown who was taller than any of tge names on this post. Rob Ray was under 6' foot tall and was up to 220lbs.... ahhh the juiced up Era.

I've read some of your comments 😮 I put a lot of consideration and put Jay Miller as my top 22 pick all time. Jay was a gamer, he worked his butt off for his team to the best of his abilities. Dave Brown was the great whiteshark 🦈 Miller was that scrawny little skinny sucker eel type creature that clinged on for a ride around the 7 seas. When the great white slapped it's huge tail, the scrawny little sucker sunk to the depths of the abyss. Another win, for the great white shark 🦈

Joe Kocur was ranked no. 2 during 1989 1990 behind Dave Brown. I have Kocur as the number 4 th greatest fighter to drop the gloves. He chugged haymakers that injured several opponents. His reach was a bit shorter than most guys. Kocur didn't have a consistent pattern of avenging his losses. He won many fights and drew and lost his fair share. Joe Kocur on Steroids eventually got bigger and bulkier in weight up to 220lbs.
