He's added some depth for sure! I think it's been a good pickup for him and his personal life as well. Playing like this, on a team that took a chance, in a playoff series he could have missed out on entirely... has to be good for team and personal morale.

46 shots on goal, 44 saves by Smith, and keeping LA off the scoreboard in the first when the Oil were outshot 19-7, and Smith doesn't make the 3 stars of the game? Are you kidding? He's the reason the Oil win this, without him the score is about 3-1 after one and it's a entirely different game.

Another huge W for the Oilers! They did a great job shutting the Kings down in the third after they made it 5-2, and Smith had another strong game in goal for us, which was awesome to see!!! On to Game 4, hope the boys keep playing like this! 17 goals in 3 games is absolutely phenomenal! Go Oilers!!

Game 1 the Kings had all secondary scoring. Goals from Moore, Iafallo, Lemeuix, and Danault (shot from Durzi bounced off him). The Kings top players aren't present. Kempe and Kopitar have dissapeared offensively.

Edmonton doing a good job of extracting value out of E. Kane literally the only way possible: him being a #6 or 7 in the pecking order among the forwards, and on a veteran minimum deal. The moment the guy gets put in a leadership role or starts cashing a check something switches in his mind and he’s useless. Nice work by the old man in the GM’s chair in Edmonton on this one.
