Puck was in the blue paint, and he was checked over the goalie. It was a good goal. Players are allowed in the blue paint if the puck is there and free and it's not interference if the opposing team players are checked or knocked onto the goalie by the goalies teammates. They also look at if the goalie would have had a chance to stop the puck had interference not occurred. If the answer to that is there is little to no chance, then the goal would stand still.

The only legal goal in this video is the Buffalo goal against Detroit. Rule 69.1 states " Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact." All other goals are seem pretty clearly goalie interference and a couple (for example, both Boston ones, for and against) are the definition of goalie interference.

all about challenges If you watched the one that counted for the leafs the same thing happened . They made the call because the defenseman collided with the bruins player and it was a good goal. Same with the leafs . If the defense impedes the progress of a player during a goalie interference challenge that goal will stand . The offensive player did not go in on his own accord. The blues defenseman knocked Desbursk down while he was going to the net.

I feel like it should be a goal, I've been a leafs fan all my life but the defensman pushed the guy on top of the goalie so it should be a goal, the same way how it was a goal in the leafs vs bruins since the defenseman pushed his own goalie, like the are no weak defensman in the NHL he should be able to hold his own against Hyman. This is horrible. It's also a reason why Hockey will never be as popular as the league wishes it was. It's got some of the worst officiating of any professional sport. I've been a fan of Hockey since I was a kid in the 60's. I got so fed up with the officiating that I stopped watching it for 25 years because I would get so angry. Nothing has changed but now I just don't care who wins because the officials have too much input in the game. Tripping is tripping if some players do it but not others, same with hooking, boarding, interference, you name it. Every call seems to depend on who the player is rather than what actually happened. Goaltender interference seems to be the absolute worst part of the inconsistent officiating. Recently a goal was allowed even though the officials admitted that the player impeded the goalie's movement, but it didn't happen inside the crease. Unfortunately for that Ref, the official rule makes no mention of where the offence must occur, so some Refs have decided it can only be interference if it happens in the crease. Paving the way for forwards to push the goalie's glove hand down, when the shot comes resulting in a possible goal, and without the goal being called back. Which is EXACTLY what happened last night. Referees should not be MAKING the rules, only enforcing them. The league needs to do better. Police your own Policemen (aka the Refs).
