RUSapache they are. But if the player is in serious destress, they will use the maintenance doors instead of the bench.

Its crazy. We make these saves hundreds of times and then one time it just goes horribly wrong and ruins your season.

I live in Minnesota and in my opinion Bantams can be just as dangerous in some areas of hockey. For checking kids are just learning how to check, so they can't really control how they check or how much force they put into it
@blacktimhoward43226 жыл бұрын
As a hockey noob it's hard for me to understand specifically what is going wrong here. Is the puck hitting the pad as intended and _still_ impacting hard enough to break a bone or something? Can this happen on literally any shot? Or are they just (not to demean but for understanding purposes) suffering severe muscle pulls?
@pdma37736 жыл бұрын
Usually goalie injuries are hyperextending or pulling muscles but there’s also some other types
@seniagolisek11696 жыл бұрын
You can break a bone off the impact of a shot occasionally, if the shot is perfectly placed on a weak spot in you gear (like the collarbone area, I speak from experience). Most of the time you’re pretty well covered though, so it rarely happens. The most common injury in a goalie is a pulled groin. I think it’s because goalies spend so much time in the butterfly position, if they lose their balance and accidentally sit back (while still down on the ice) it’s really easy to pull your groin that way, with how your knees and thighs are positioned inside the goalie pad. Also, goalie pads are really clunky and are specifically made so your knees can only fall in one position, so if you stumble and lose your balance, your knees and the rest of your lower body ends up in landing in an awkward position. And trust me, pulled groins hurt like heck.

something a lot of people dont realise is how hard those pucks get hit and how fast they fly especially at this level. even with the padding you can still feel it

Depends on the shot. As a goalie myself I've had a couple leave bruises through my chest guard. I've also had a slap shot on a bad angle miss the chest guard and hit flesh right over my kidney. When you make a save but there is no sound from the puck hitting your pad, it's scary. Then the pain hits as I dropped to the ice. Not a fun hospital visit

Injuries that don't look like anything, but the goalies go off with no power with one leg; it is a groin, glute or muscle in between injury. I have pulled a glute or muscle in between a couple times, and i was not able to put any pressure AT ALL on said leg for 3 days, then gingerly for another week, then still feel a twinge of pain with certain motions for another 2 weeks. It is NOT Fun >¤

Ive had a whiplash with my right upper leg while playing soccer on the street at the beginning of summer holiday. It was not fun indeed. The sound of a twig that breaks was scary to hear. Took me a good 6 months+ to fully recover. 1st day of school after the holiday i stepped on my bicycle on the left side to nearly fall off on the right side if the camper had not still been there.
