Poitras development jump reminds me of Wyatt Johnstons jump. He has no panic in his game and he has improved his top end speed. His two way game combined with his understanding of how important it is to win faceoffs at his age is so rare. You can tell he loves the game and has a very positive attitude. The biggest challenge for him will be getting stronger and proving he can eat top 6 minutes thru a 82 game schedule. Matty P is a natural center and has nothing left to learn at the junior level. I honestly can't see him as anything less than a middle 6 forward for the Bruins this year. He is only going to get better.

Lucic looked like he turned the clock back to 2015. He was an absolute force out there, always been a super underrated passer too. Can’t wait for a nerd to tell me his corsi was bad though. He makes a difference

This game had some interesting plays and moments. You can tell Bedard will be a super player. For Boston , Poitras created the first goal. He is a big surprise and will develop into a playmaker & scorer. He reminds me of Marc Savard. Lucic created the second goal with a super pass to Pasta. Great deflection by Frederic on 1st goal. Boston will be solid again this year.

Only 2 games but the Blackhawks look 100 percent better than the last 4 seasons ..so far. The Bruins were record setters last year but the Hawks hung with them for 59 minutes. Not easy to go back to back after an end to end in Pittsburgh last night. Could not generate as much offense after the first 30 minutes. Legs may have tired but the main reason is the Bees. They are great.

Exactly. Chicago obviously needs a lot more from other lines. The Bruins already have that. Very good experience for a young group to face Pitt and Boston on the road in back to back games. I believe they have 4 more road games before going home.

It's great to have a star player. It's better to have a solid team. And Montgomery called this an average win. Loved seeing Looch back in Black and Gold. Marchie doing great digging things out and passing them off. And Ullmark is once again a wall.

@@MrJimbeam1116 Ratio of shots and success belies you. The Bruins shot on Soderblom 32 times. He let in two goals. In contrast, Ullmark was shot on saved 20 times and let in only one goal. So, Soderblom did a good job, just not as good as Ullmark. The real problem is that the Blackhawks even with Bedard couldn't make the shots.

The whole game Boston carried the play on offense! They definitely had more quality scoring chances than the Hawks ..With that being said in my opinion the Bruins deserved this win more than Chicago! Bedard looked very good but needs to gain size as he matures. I did hold my breath when he went into the boards ! I loved the whole game up and down quality scoring chances from both sides . This game was a pleasure to watch! Go Bruins and good luck to the Black Hawks this season !

As a Boston fan I don’t really understand why Dickinson got an instigating play on Beecher. He’s just sticking up for his teammate after Beecher laid a borderline dirty hit that quite frankly could have been more than a 2 minute minor, but somehow the Hawks got penalized more than the Bruins did on the play. Also hats off to Beecher for fighting in his first game and also playing very well on the 4th line

It is not that tough when you face the best team in hockey from last season on the road on a back to back. The Bees lost very few games at home last season. They were outplayed certainly but they are competing. And though the Hawks have a few veterans this is a young team. Making the playoffs is not going to happen THIS season.

Guy blew three prime scoring chances on Ullmark's doorstep. I heard Bedard has a wicked shot but all I saw was him fanning on one and crashing into the end boards. I guess it's hard to shoot when D-men are breathing down your neck every time you touch the puck and don't give you any space for a shot. Bedard is a long way from playing with boys and it shows.
