I was flabergasted cause this kid's scoring points while being a speedy 2 way player! He's like top 50 of the best second rounders for pts/game in the league, drafted at #35!..

Slafkovsky’s best game in the uniform, by far, which for the Habs is by far the most important thing that could happen in this game, even if the rest had been bad. But it wasn’t, there was a lot to like here, especially new acquisition Newhook.

For the first game of 2023/2024 - what a thriller, i might need to take a nap now. Lots of positives and negatives on both teams, for my Habs - special teams still need so, so much work... but lots of positives with Newhook, Slaf, Guhle to name a few. I will say our old man line of Monahan / Pearson / Gallagher did not look really good - fine 5 on 5, but Monahan failing that clear that led to the 5-5 tie.... brutal.

As a Habs fan, this was WAY better than expected. This looks like we've got really good names on the ice that could become franchise staples and stay together for a good 6-8 years. Brilliant comeback victory for the Maple Leafs tonight! Down by a couple of goals near the end of regulation against Montreal. Pulling the goalie earlier than expected proved to definitely help! The Leafs stayed focused. Matthew's 3 goal night was amazing! Loved Mitch Marner on his wonderful shootout goal for the winner! 1st game of regular season is always important to win. Maple Leafs did it at home!

The Habs performed well but a lot to work on with penalty killing. They got a lead early. Lost a lot of wind after the challenge. Came back in the third strong and had the lead. Just an insane Toronto offense and a not fully developed defense when it was needed the most. Amazing first game for the young squad.

ngl, that was one heck of a game. Both team kept one upped each others. Xhekaj showed who was the better man, I didn't see Reavy all game after that massacre lol Both Samsonov and Allen was a bit weak overall. That game wasn't a goalie duel, that for sure lol Nylander was a menace all game. Can wait to see which team will be lucky enough to have him next season. Habs hold their own again the regulars season Toronto Maple Leafs. Their development is going well, can't wait to see them play more exiting game like this one this season.
