I can only question him in terms of if he inspires his teammates or has a strong voice to make them listen, but I certainly can't argue at all with what Quinn Hughes has achieved. To be the leading d-man in the entire season, and in his first as captain. What a mesmeric season for him. Is surely a Norris candidate favourite.

@@Mechanicsville804 In an interview before the season started on the teams decision to make him captain all of the players and coaches were saying that he does talk a lot. @@horderulzforeverBut why would you call that 'silly'? It's an observation I've looked at regarding Hughes all season, and as someone else said, he doesn't talk very much. Especially when the team is losing or getting outplayed. Nothing wrong with trying to establisgmh if they're a character or a leader in the team, because it is one thing being an individual, but another to be a team player.

Have to give credit to the Coyote's goalie for holding the Canucks off this game. They looked like they had some shades of that early waves of aggressive forechecking going on this game, but just got goalied. Thanks to the talent of Quinn Hughes and Garland deciding the Coyote's net needed a puck decorating it late in the 3rd, the Canucks were able to battle through a hot goalie and pick up the W.

There are no easy games in the NHL. Not even against teams like the Hawks or the Sharks. Teams play bad on given nights, but overall the talent level has never been more balanced. Mostly because of the cap. Sure bottom teams have more "bad" nights but it's not like they're easy outs like the 80's.

@@jeffgoodman4849 Yes, something has changed. Other teams have been watching what made Vancouver successful the first half and are taking that away from Vancouver and Vancouver hasn't changed anything to compensate. The amount of times other teams anticipate a pass and intercept it lately is astounding. I really do see him as a solid middle pair d-man and I think he'd look a lot better if paired with Zedorov or Soucy, or heck, even Juulson or Friedman. IMO Myres got wrecked by the over large contract and fan hate that precipitated almost right away and he just never recovered mentally from being the fan parish. He wasn't actually that bad when he first came over. Played tough, which the team needed back there at the time, only issue was he took too many penalties and was paid way too much for what he brought to the team. Now he plays like a man who's lost his heart most of the time with flashes of looking OK here and there.

It’s time for the Phoenix coyotes to move somewhere else like Utah would be a great fit for that team. Arizona is just not a hockey state.
@Seriously_Unserious
@Seriously_Unserious Ай бұрын
They'd also look mighty fine back in Canada. Like maybe Quebec, and buying the rights to the name and branding of the Nordiques form the Avalanche. Kind of like what the Atlanta Thrashers did when they couldn't get enough support in Georgia and went to the Coyote's old home.

Nope, the NHL already said Canada can I have any more teams? I’ve got enough so either the coyotes go to Utah or Houston Texas be one of the two places they’re going to go, but they’re not going back to Canada
@Seriously_Unserious
@Seriously_Unserious Ай бұрын
@@jamesvitale6666 Oh, that's right, to get a Canadian team back, they have to first be placed in Atlanta, fail there -- again, then move to Canada, like the Flames and Thrashers both did. Forgot, Atlanta's the NHL's gateway to hidden expansion into Canada.

@@Seriously_Unserious Beautifully put, humourous but sad at the same time. Imagine having to go through all that rigamarole, just because Buttman wants to keep a team that has almost no fans, and plays in the desert in a rink the size of the one in my neighbourhood, instead of being in a city that already has a real arena and a huge fan base.

EP40’s performance was really disgusting. He is a liability on the ice. He was slow and totally ineffective on the ice. Should have tried to score on that empty net to seal the game; instead, he chose to pass to Mikheyev (who has ZERO finish). Pathetic performance.

@@doublestrokerolltrue, but everyone knows if their star player gets upended like that there’s bound to be someone looking for payback, I just don’t understand why Miller thought he had a chance at all. Looked like a pathetic attempt to look tough, Zadorov and Lindholm or even one of their big guys that didn’t play tonight(maybe he should have, Zadorov isn’t looking good. But as big as he is, why’s he playing at the blue line? Big guys should be playing center so they can have their way and not get push around like that.

Miller wins far more fights then he loses. Guy's a tank and was more of an energy player enforcer before he came to the Canucks and got in touch with his inner Bertuzzi, sans the temper. This fight Miller just lost his balance and got stuck bent over.

Oh, and of course Petterson's weak, he's a finesse player. So was Gretzky weak, because news flash, he was also finesse player, yet he still holds practically all the offensive records the NHL keeps, and Petterson is still one of the top scorers in the NHL this season.

Yeah, they ran into a hot goalie, like they'll likely do in the playoffs, and found a way to get just enough pucks past him to get the W. Conner with a huge goal, redecorating the Coyote's net with a puck inside. Love how he hangs those Garlands!
