Чем ближе плей-офф, тем невзрачнее выглядит Ванкувер, и дело даже не травме Демко. Вся система игры Ванкувера уже больше месяца барахлит, особенно натужно даются голы. Мое объяснение всему - система Токкетта основана на большом объеме беговой работы - высокий форчек, обязательная отработка назад при потере шайбы (из-за этого сплавили Кузьменко) и т.д. К концу регулярки игроки, в первую очередь лидеры, просто наелись и функционально подсели. Сейчас и Бёсер уже не блещет результативностью, и даже Хьюз уже не феерит, но особенно невзрачно выглядит Петтерссон, который не отличается могучим атлетизмом и физухой, и уже не первый сезон я замечаю, что для Элиаса последняя треть чемпионата всегда дается тяжелее, чем начало и середина. Короче, Токкетт просто загонял ребят и те сильно просели функционально. Вегас же обладает большим опытом и мы видим обратную картину, "рыцари" потихоньку возвращают игроков из лазарета и набирают обороты к плей-офф. А что будет в плей-офф, если встретятся между собой Ванкувер и Вегас, мы сегодня увидели очень наглядно, по сути, игра была сделана уже в самом начале 2 периода, когда счет стал 5:1. Как написал один из пользователей, Ванкувер оказался погремушкой, погремел в регулярке, а к плей-офф оказался пустышкой. Во второй раунд плей-офф Ванкувер пройдет только из-за того, что скорее всего будет играть в первом раунде с таким же проблемным Лос-Анджелесом, который проигрывает всем подряд. Зато во втором раунде самым вероятным соперником будет Вегас, который переедет через Ванкувер как каток!

Dude, the Canucks came into this game even vs the Knights. Or should I say the Vegas LTIRs? That's my fear come playoffs, all those "injured" Vegas players within the first few games of the playoffs making "miraculous" recoveries and rejoining the team. The team that really has the Canucks' number this year is an old haunt coming back in the Avalanche, who used to have the team's number through the late 80s into the 90s, dating back to their time in Quebec. For a while it seemed like the Canucks had shaken the ghosts of Nordiques/Avalanche but like a poltergeist it comes back every so often. The next fear I have is a boring snooze fest vs the Kings, and seeing 7 games of 0-0 regulation games and single digit per game shot totals. Any game involving the Kings could work as the ASMR Hockey League. Maybe get Ephameral Rift or Fred's Voice to do the play by play for the Kings. ER could even do it in character as Dr Corvis or Timothy Timmerman of the Tinfoil Hat Society!

Vegas winning big - helping the Oilers finish 1st and solidifying 3rd place. In the Pacific I don't see why you wouldn't want to play VAN in the first round. What's the incentive to play the other 3? Vegas should want Oilers to catch the Canucks. Next week LVG vs VAN followed by LVG vs EDM.

When Vancouver beats vegas in the first round You will see why. One game does not decide how things will go in the playoffs. Don't believe me? They split the first two games and now Vegas is up 2-1. Sounds a lot like boston vs florida last year. They split their first two games and boston won the third something like 7-3, but then florida upset them in the first round. Honestly, if you really think one game makes that much of a difference then vegas should try harder to finish first so Vancouver can play Edmonton first round to knock them out, given how the season series has went so far there. Regular season statistically does not mean much.

They got a sweet deal with long term injury reserve. The cap leeway allowed for some great moves and come 1st day of playoffs who knows maybe Stone is back. It's some clever manipulation by regulation allowance so it's not shady but fortuitous circumstance. There was a team last season that had this exact move but it's escaping me. Either way Vegas was a great team who hit some jackpot circumstances and they're a force if not the force. They break out mid ice so smoothly and cap it with great offensive positioning. They know how to rush while still forcing a defender into a spot that opens the play. Canucks fan and I'm not a big watcher of any team but them but what I have seen of the Knights this year is very pretty, calculated hockey.

As a Vegas fan, we do this every year, start out 10-0 then play crap hockey in January and February then come alive in April. Like clock work, stay as the underdogs.

The only people that put stock into January/February NHL are the teams/fans of teams that never do anything or even make the playoffs. To the good teams, the regular season is merely a dress rehearsal to be used as it best suits you for the real season. The up and coming young teams rack up wins to gain confidence, build a winning culture, etc. the more veteran teams intentionally conserve energy for the playoffs even if it means worse playoff seed.

If you're too busy actually playing the game and retrieving a puck on a dump in you just had to race for against the wall, then some guy who's known for dirty hits who just had a major a month ago comes up behind you and cross checks you into the wall face first you have no chance to protect yourself because it was UNSUSPECTING. Petterson got a big assist. That's NOT invisible. Try Suter failing to clear pucks resulting in goals against. Try playing an AHL guy who's not ready yet. Try defensemen not keeping the front of the net clear and those goal mouth passing lanes locked down. Or that jackass that took a 5 minute major (don't know who as the highlights failed to show that play). It's hard to be very "visible" if you're sitting in the Sin Bin for 5 minutes. There's plenty of players who were not pulling their weight who are not named Elias Petterson who DID get points. Maybe that's your problem? He actually DID score points and WAS visible for the right reasons? If so, why stop at Petterson? why not go to the biggest producer, Quinn Hughes? he scored TWO GOALS! that's more productive and by your metrics "more invisible" then Petterson.
