That’s one hell of a rebound game. 14 different Kings with a point tonight, and every line scored. If anything will get the Kings a deep playoff run this year; it’ll be their depth. It’s truly terrifying. Especially since their goaltending tandem has improved since the trade deadline. 8-0-2 in their last 10, and they aren’t slowing down. 👑GKG👑

@@zachtrautman1249 Kings are the one team that I would actually put any money on to beat Edmonton. Last year was a good preview and was a very entertaining series. This season LA has outscored Edmonton 9-4 and only allowed one point from McDavid. LA clearly knows how to shut McDavid and Draisaitl down better than any other team in the league. Only time will tell though. I can hardly wait for the playoffs.

I’m beyond shocked as to how bad they are. The flames always have some sort of way to screw things up at the most important time. Like other days they play so well and then the next game they play, they’re the worst team in the league and that’s not even a joke, that’s how I feel at this point. It was actually after the 6th goal was allowed. Vladar then replaced Markstrom at the start of the 3rd. Sutter didn’t have many options that game. He clearly wants Markstrom to get into his groove and be the guy for them, but he was also aware that they’d have to play Anaheim the following day. I would’ve pulled Markstrom after he allowed the four goals in the first. Regardless if any were his fault or not. Then he could start the next day against Anaheim.

As far as I'm concerned, it _should_ be Vladar's net. Not because he's earned it, but because *MARKSTROM* lost it!! And yet every game I continue to see Markstrom netminding it's usually followed by a loss.

I feel sorry for Calgary. Their keeper was bad today. Most of the time that’s all it takes to put up a loss. Try this: Pick 10 future games at random. Could be any 2 teams. Check out which team won the game, then look at the goalie save % for each team. Very rare that the losing team’s goalie has the better save %, and vice versa. Save% is a much, much better indicator of which team wins the game than SOG. It was surprising to see how much better it is.

idk about you but my go to indicator of which team wins the game is the goal differential. It's even rarer that the losing team has better goal differential than the winning team. Try this: pick 10 future games at random, could be any 2 teams and you'll see how good of an indicator it is. okay, I'll stop with the irony. The thing is: yes, there is a strong correlation between goalie save % in a game and winning the game, but (I'm sure you've heard it before) correlation does not mean causation. Maybe there is something else that causes both of these things to correlate, one of them might be how many danger shots against let the team in front happen. We know that markstrom used to be a great goalie, but goalies can be great only if the team in front is great as well (Zadorov and Pelletier turnovers?)

I’ve never thought Markstrom was very good goalie. He’s strictly a positional goalie and doesn’t have the ability to make saves that aren’t directly on him. Not much athleticism and slow lateral movement and bad anticipation of where the puck is going. Problem is shooting accuracy of players has gone up a lot. So he’s kinda useless.

@@brandonstriegel3461 every single goal against him finds a little opening. And he’s always frozen and never has a reaction. He never even sees the puck. It’s a huge different to goalies like Jonathan Quick or even Kipper back in the day. Those guys are super athletic and had good anticipation and reflexes and they made big saves. They literally stole games for their teams. Goalies need to be more athletic because too many players have very accurate shots so they need to be able to adjust and react not just make themselves big.
