Big home win for the Kings going into the break. The penalty kill continues to be a massive factor for them, and while you'd like to see the power play be a little more effective, they don't necessarily need it win games. Props to Markstrom too. He allowed 4 goals, but it could've been much worse for the Flames had he not played the way he did. Back to .500 at home for the Kings. Need to keep doing that if we want to stay at the top. Go Kings Go! Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!

It's telling of how much I've come to expect of the Kings this year that any time they lose a game, I get really annoyed until they play again. Happy to see them get back on track against a divisional opponent. Shout-out to Byfield, his growth as a player is impressive.

Never had any doubt LA had this game. Just one of those games where LA controlled the pace the whole game. Calgary was lucky to have as many power plays as they did. Referees calling 10 minutes worth of penalties on LA in 15 minutes is ridiculous. It's like they wanted Calgary to tie the game. At least call it both ways.

@@btgkg9639 Yes, but like I said, it wasn't being called both ways. Called a lot of soft stuff that wouldn't have even affected the play. Seemed every time they called a penalty against LA, they had full control. This just happens too much in the NHL. Too much unnecessary interference from the referees. They need to find a middle ground.

maybe but some of the players have a lot of quit in them. They hovered close last year but Huberdope is a mess on tap for a 10 goal season and Sakic quit on them last half of season. Defense scoring is a shining star of this team last two years.

I thought Calgary got away with a lot more of the penalties than the Kings. The refs should not give Adrian Kempe a double minor for high-sticking Noah Hanafin because the Calgary Flames player lifted the stick of Kempe into the face of Hanafin. Plus Calgary Flames were guilty of Holding and cross-checking. They should have given Coleman a major and a match penalty for charging the player and should have the goal disallowed. Plus Calgary kept on getting away with Too many men on ice too. They were also cross-checking the Kings players deliberated to the back of Kings players.

It appears as though PLD thinks he is not important in the over all scheme of things. He had always been 1 or 2 on the totem pole. He literally is the third wheel. IF He plays to his potential he will be very important, especially in the playoffs-which is the main reason they got him. The Kings have up waaayy too much to get him. Even though Vilardi has always been a very talented player- it’s been uneven for him his whole career, part of that due too injuries. He’s now showing what he can do in a town that is only important to itself. Much easier to perform on the Jets because there is no pressure on a NHL Level nationally. Dubois is under major scrutiny everywhere- he’s going to have to pull his head out! There’s already a conspiracy that says it’s all on purpose so the jets could get some top players, and possibly get PLD back as a result of his lazy play…only time will tell I guess..
