How often does that happen? A successful challenge taking a goal off the board at one end resulting in a goal at the other end that counts following a failed challenge by the other team. And the longer a review takes, the more likely it is going to be overturned. Once the RNH goal was taken off, I knew this was going to be St Louis' game.

Couple years ago a team edmonton was facing in the playoffs got a highstick goal(possibly colorado but cant recall), even though the player touched the puck with his stick above the crossbar, but below their shoulders it counted. Now all of a sudden they go back to the original rule of below the crossbar. Refs are really messing with hockey these days.

Oilers have amongst the fewest PP opportunities in the NHL also one of the most penalized. The disallowed goal on a graze passing by established the level of goaltender contact that wouldn't be tolerated. When Oilers make a challenge based on the same level of contact they get a penalty. When you watch the fastest player in the world hooked and held every night and not get calls. But get a bunch of weak calls It's hard to watch. Last game, player grabbed Hopkins stick while he was trying to shoot at an yawning net. No call. Anyone else would have got a Penalty shot. Opposing player high sticks his teammate. Eckholm gets a high sticking penalty. Oilers PP hit historical levels and set the NHL record for proficiency and its like refs decided not to give them the opportunity any more. Refs decided McDavid is too fast an shifty you can stop him without hooking and holding so different rules for him. Can't blame the fan base for feeling refs try to manage Oilers games. I've never made a post complaining about the reffing. But I understand the frustration of those that do.

Matthews is for me the most improved player in my team and maybe in the league since he arrived, could finish his career as the only American born player to have most goals, most 60 goal seasons (till somebody else beats it 🤔records meant to be broken 😏🙄), but that play pass by McJesus to the German is why I swap him in a heartbeat for the home grown guy, even tho AM34 has double his goals this season and is probably better defensively with his takeaways, McDavids vision he’s so un selfish, like Crosby makes your teammates so much more dangerous I mean I luv Hyman but he could finish with 60 goals this season 😮

Only Ekholm had a good game, Draisaitl scored 1 goal but too many bad passes and too many penalties and lost most of the faceoffs, Hyman was "ok", McDavid (-1) was just average and made 1 good pass, Bouchard played poorly on the blue line. Kane's 5+2 penalty broke the Oilers' game. Most of the Oiler team are mediocre players who score on big holidays. 😝 McLeod just another mediocre player to blame for OT loss🤪 This Oilers game is not the game expected from Cup contenders.😇
