Both sides buzzing showing off major skills, flames come back after being down two and if it wasn’t for that stupid high stick penalty by Posspisil we probably would’ve won, but still a really good performance by the Flames both sides deserved the W tonight and unfortunately it had to be the pesky Oilers. ultimately the deciding factor of this game was the fact that Calgary won last game, and drai wanting to prove he can lead. They either need to change or get rid of the high sticking goal rule. the first flame goal was 100% a HIGH STICK. the rule: its a high stick if the puck is touched ABOVE THE CROSSBAR! the height of an nhl net is 120cm. the puck was touched very near Ekholm's shoulder.... average length of a males head and neck is 30cm. Ekholm is 192cm tall. THATS ABOUT 42cm above... he was not standing tall but i didnt count the height bonus from his skates either. even giving 10-20cm error, its still 20cm high.... this just shows the nhl doesnt know how to math, and they try to manage games.
@maxwellmawji2402 ай бұрын
I think this is why head office called in to make a ruling. Martha on skates is 6 foot 8, his shoulders tower above the cross bar. I saw this game live so I didn’t get an explanation on why it counted, but I’d think it’s the NHL not penalizing Mantha for being tall or where the puck was deflected on his stick.
@jadehowse41872 ай бұрын
The puck went over yanmarks shoulders and it was still climbing. So It should have been waved off, every angle it was shot at it was high above the cross bar. But I thought it counted because I was thinking it had to be below the shoulders
@td10682 ай бұрын
It was 100% a high stick, the refs have been tinkering with plays like this for years so it will never change, only thing teams can do is just try to ignore it and not let bs calls effect their play. I still remember when edmonton faced Colorado in the playoffs maybe 3 or 4 years ago, Colorado had a clear offside call which ultimately led to their victory. Since that play happened, players have been allowed to have their skates over the blue line before the puck, as long as they have control, which doesn't make any sense at all.

@@JasonXYT 99% of Flames fans are decent people...We had a bunch up for the Heritage classic. No problem, everyone was cool...And YES, there are assholes from Edmonton too...But KOODA/Mr.Watts ect. is a Troll on a whole other level. I wonder if he is in a mental institution and gets to play on computers for a few hours everyday...There is no way he is a normal human being...Cheers, Good luck the rest of the season.
