I can forgive desperate moves to prevent goals (sticking, holding, tripping) leading to penalties, but that too many men on ice call for MTL was just painful. It singlehandedly cost them the game. They really, really need to fix the snail-paced line change. Still, that shootout was a riot. Monty lasted beyond my expectations, which just goes to show how skilled he's becoming. He may not be the #1 goalie in spreadsheets, but he definitely is in my heart.

I’ll take the point despite being up 3-1. Kudos to Ned, he played awesome. But horribly called game through the second period forward. Refs are too inconsistent and pick and choose when they think a penalty should be given based on how loud a players goes “HEY!!”. Ex. A) Can’t call that “hook” on Slaf in the second if you’re not going to call that two hand hook and yank on Slaf literally 15 seconds after the pens just scored. Fast twitch muscles are affected by surgery and the fascia envelopes the muscle even tighter. Montreal needs a strengthening coach for Cole to teach him how to safely tear that fascia and give him the range he once had. Garry Roberts should be hired to do just that with Cole.
