I'd much rather have the guaranteed 1st round pick... as much as it pains me to say that.. All of this young energy on the team and we're playing hockey that is definitely playoff caliber... but we've all seen this movie. SOMETHING will override a proven system, and they'll screw the pooch... then have no 1st rounder.... Don't get me wrong.. would I love to see this team rally? Fck yes... See young guys carrying pace whilst giving vets time and space to do their thing, leading to everyone creating chances? absolutely... Guys like Rakell, Smith, Bunting, and Karlsson go on their own respective rippers and hitting closer to their peak potential, if even just for a small spurt that could cement some more lucrative ice time, points wise? I don't think it's impossible.... But likely? EHHHHHHH... Pains me to say it but... Put in the young guys, see what you've got finish in the bottom 10. get the draft pick... what we've been seeing is an entirely different team that's been carried by a combination of young legs and veteran hockey sense...

If the Pens win they are 1 point out of the wildcard! What? I got a vibe on the 87 one handed empty net goal that the Pens have reversed the fortunes of Letang and Geno's own goal. I hope we get a classic Sid, Ovi, Geno game with the Pens winning in a playoff type game.

A pretty cool little feather in the cap for Sid!

Devils are first in the NHL in giving up the most first goals of a game, and blowing the most multi-goal leads. Not something to be first in. Playoffs are pretty much out now and time to regroup. New coach, new goaltending, new attitude.

Defense the biggest issue. Hamilton injured + Graves & Severson traded away has had a huge impact on defense. Luke and Nemec are great to have but two rookies can't be your top horses if you're trying to get to the playoffs.
