Could've gave this core another shot if they understood this fundamental flaw 3 years ago. What happened to to PO Joseph? He was one of the major bright spots on the team last year, because of his energy. Hack Kyle Dubas let him go, even though he costs 1.5 million. What a joke of a GM. Him and Hextall should never work in the NHL again

​@@Jim-pq9pmDubas has made some decent moves to try and get youth in the lineup but sure he's made questionable adds. But I think it's more on Rutherford and Hextall. Hextall made the team old for sure and made terrible trades but Rutherford year after year would trade 1st rounders like it was nothing. How are you supposed to get young doing that? Need I also say bring Sheary back, Gudbrandson, Jack Johnson, a 40 year old Marleau because they needed another Cullen, the 1st rounder for Reaves, Oleksiak, bringing back Dominik Simon signing Plotnikov, choosing to let Fleury go to Vegas for nothing. So I think Rutherford definitely deserves blame but he doesn't get it much because he helped build a Back to back cup team.But after those cups he was not a good GM

@@trvman1 You're right on Karlsen, wrong on Malkin. 6.7 ain't that much for a legend who still produces a point per game, and can historically elevate his play in the playoffs. Should have let Letang go, the "big 3" was a myth, they lost the big 3 when they let Fleury go.

I feel Mike is one of the best coaches in the league. He led the Pens to back-to-back cup wins. Why put the blame on him. I see a lack of on-ice team leadership. And some slow, old, fat cat players who are well past their prime, but sucking up a big piece of the cap, maybe need to go.

You can surround your older core with young guys and it would work, but apparently Hextall thought an average team age in the low to mid 30s was a good idea. Dubas' first move was to resign No-Glove Jarry for 5 million, and trade for a 36 year old "defensemen" who gets paid over 11 million

EK65 makes $ 11,500,000 a year. The guy doesn't hit, they can't put him on to the PK, he has no clue about assignments or stick position or gap control. There is ZERO backcheck. He is one of the softest defenders in the league and in this game he lost his assignment about 6 times and the Canes scored 3 times because he was in noman's land. When asked in the post-game interview how he played - he replied "not bad" I wonder how a bad game looks like if this was a not bad game. I would say he should focus more on his stash and his hair and leave hockey to the one's who push hard...

Kyle Dubas is a hack. His main theory for team building is "pack as much offense as possible" as if Pittsburgh needs offense. They need defense, puck control, someone to run the point, not some phoney Bobby Orr wannabe that doesn't backcheck

His whole shoot the puck mentality is dumb. We continue to outshoot the other team with nothing to show for it. It’s a scared mentality type of offense. Heaving a bunch of low quality shots on net does zilch besides end up in odd man rushes and build the goalies confidence.

Not a fun of Pen's, but I can remember how good they was a lot years in a row. Now I looked at their game and I can see that they can't even afford two strong offensive threes. Previously, Crosby was the center in the first, Malkin was the center in the second and they gave results without loss of quality, now I see that they are playing on the same line and I understand how bad things are for the penguins. Terrible selection. The goalkeeper doesn't inspire confidence either. sad for Pens.😒

Somebody has to have a talk with Sidney Crosby. IT IS OVER! Pittsburg can get a couple of draft picks for him if they move soon to start rebuilding. Same with LeTang, Malkin and Karlson. Clean house now while you can. Let them all compete for one last Cup on a real contender before they retire. If hockey players lasted forever, Bobby Orr would still be alive. RIP Bobby
