Coaching. Same thing as the Oilers. It's what seperates elite teams and fast turnarounds for mediocrity. Teams like the Sabres, Blue Jackets, etc need to pull somebody from this coaching staff.

@@JesusChrist2000BC With the Oilers I still question if it was the coaching change or if McDavid was just playing hurt in the beginning of the season and he's now healthy. McDavid wasn't in the top 50 scorers when they were constantly losing and now he shot up to 3rd. It's not like a new coach could come in and instantly teach McDavid how to score better.

Canucks extend their lead to 6 points in the standings. I know I may get stick for saying this, but I'm calling it here. Vancouver have got that President's Trophy nailed down. At various points, ALL of their lines come up with big game-changing moments. Their depth scoring is far above those chasing them in the table. And best of all is while they're pulling ahead, the other teams below are all tripping over one another trying to catch them. The feeling you get as a fan of a team who hardly ever occupies this spot. You couldn't even begin to imagine it.

Good win. Hoglander played well - again. But the fourth line now looks not so menacing. I think Mikheyev may be now on a tryout basis. He played on the third instead of the fourth. I wonder if Kessel will replace him if Kessel proves to be fit. Like Kuzmenko, he just hasn't had much luck in scoring.

Both these clubs delivered a really solid game of hockey! Now Idk about you guys but Canucks vs Red Wings feels a lot like playoff hockey these last few meetings… how cool would it be to take this developing rivalry into a playoff series?
