I remember being a little kid watching patrick lalime let in those goals vs toronto in game 7, back when the battle of Ontario was at its peak. I remember crying as my cousins from Toronto called me to rub it in my face, I went up to my room and ripped up my Patrick Lalime autographed poster I had from meeting him through the Timbits hockey program. The next day the newspaper had an image with one of the goals replacing the puck with a beach ball and showed that Toronto would have still scored. I'm 29 today and will still never forgive that dingus for that game 7 performance.

Good 'ol Statue of Liberty goal
@FUGP723 ай бұрын
That Ron Francis goal in 1992 STILL haunts me to this day. Rangers up 2-1 in the series, and had a 2 goal lead AND a 5 minute major power play with 15 minutes left in the game. Figured they'd come out of that with AT LEAST a 3 goal lead with 10 minutes to play. Basically, already celebrating a 3-1 lead in the series. And they not only get stopped in the entire 5 minute power play, but Richter gives up that horrendous goal right after. so instead of a 3 goal lead with 10 to play, it was a 1 goal lead...then a tie game just a minute and 15 seconds later. Then an overtime loss. Then a lost series. So much for the President's trophy that year!

People don't understand the further away the shot... Especially slapshots in this instance are harder to stop and see....When shot from the neutral zone or further you can't see it usually till a few feet in front of you at most...And its coming hard.
@s69-511 ай бұрын
7:44 - The only embarrassing thing there is the officiating. Should have been a slashing call, regardless of the partisan play by play.
@Kreege11 ай бұрын
double OT of a playoff game that chop in the neutral zone is never getting called, especially in the pre-lockout era that clip occurred in.
@s69-511 ай бұрын
@@Kreege Making an excuse for a bad call doesn't change what should have been the outcome. The non-call had a direct game breaking effect. That's a penalty, regardless.
@JimBurlakoff11 ай бұрын
@@s69-5 It's still embarrassing for Kovalev because all he cared about was trying to sell the slashing call. That is why they always teach you to play until the whistle. For a professional of his caliber playing in Montreal in double OT, he should absolutely know better. To be honest I found this one to be one of the most embarrassing clips.
