Can anyone tell me who the announcer is for the 1999 Brett Hull call? It’s a 3OT goal to the win the goddamn cup and whoever that is calling it makes it sound like a game in November. Ultra anti-climatic. That should only be a legendary call, with minimum one catchphrase. Idc if it’s Dallas and you’re calling it in Canada. That was awful.

Goalies of the past used to wear pads that were meant for protection and making saves. Now it’s turned into getting a 6’7 guy who can flare out the biggest chest protector and cover the top of the net on his knees, to just take up space. Not saying we should go back to goalies being way under protected, but that it should be for protection, not to balloon yourself out like the Michelin man to take up space.
