I've always said. There needs to be like a Shoot Interview style thing with legends. For instance i'm a die hard wings fan. I'd LOVEEE to pay like Brett or someone else to just sit down and talk about the 02 - 04 team and stuff that was said and done in the locker room. The funny stories.. the drama... the bullshit ... all of it.

Brett story about not giving the defensemen a cheap assist was the best. Love that stuff goes on. Only the NHL.
@ronreinhold8997 Жыл бұрын
Actually what really happened there was that Quebec was not good a team, and Brett could see the game was won, and he didn't want to rub it in to them. When Sakic asked him about it, he just made up that story about the cheap assist for the defenseman. Brett didn't have a mean streak in him for sure.
@paulsundberg83303 жыл бұрын
For as fierce and the Red Wing/Avalanche rivalry was, it was kind of cool to see Sakic give Lidstrom props. As a Wings fan, I have to admit, as much as I hated the Avs at the time, I always respected guys Sakic, Forsberg, Foote, and Roy. Looking back at it now, it was one of the greatest rivalries not just in hockey but possibly all of sports.

He's such a legend. Loved his non-celebration after a goal, like it was no big deal. No dancing or prancing, swooping the ice with his glove, or taunting the crowd. Just "Yep I just scored again, I'm great, deal with it."

There’s a reason they could win Cups without elite goalies (though of course they did have one for a while). Heck, Colorado just won a Cup without an elite goalie. Great defense is more important than great goaltending.

One thing I noticed is that they both were complementing Joe Sakic's game. Could definitely tell who the best player at that table was just by the way the others talked about him.
@vangelis74 жыл бұрын
They were all very different, saying Sakic is best is a hard thing to say, each had their strengths and played different positions. Sakic’s game was more complete and he played at high speed very effectively. His quick release snap shot is very evident in todays game. Brett in my opinion was the most lethal sniper ever to play.!!Its also the difference between a centerman and a winger. All great players. Got to watch all of their careers almost in full and loved each of them.

@@aceventuraify lmao good one. Even near the end of 19's career, Joe still had 100+ point seasons and could've played into his mid 40's if not for his snowblower accident. Sakic is one of the top 5 greatest to ever play alongside Yzerman.

@@tylerlivingston82 Agreed. Hull has always been perfectly comfortable talking about his own limitations. And honestly, a lot of hockey All Time Greats, particularly the Canadians, put on too much of an "aww shucks, I ain't nothin' special" show.
