Disagree on that; it's not weighty enough to carry itself as a primary. The Screaming Eagle, as the Reverse Retro has shown, would be a marked improvement; don't need to sabotage the Weagle's strengths just to replace the wordmark.

The yeti foot is one of the most iconic logos in sports for me. I always loved the Avs uniforms when I was a kid, and the yeti foot was so cool, I don't think they should have totally gotten rid of it.

Totally agree with your assessment of the Dallas shoulder patch. I own almost every Stars Jersey ever and I can't for the life of me understand why they don't have the Texas logo as the shoulder patch. It is currently found on their shorts but when you see how frequently they have used the state patch in their history it is really my only complaint with their current home and road jerseys.

The Caps' patch actually has two buildings in its design: the Capitol dome, as mentioned in the video, and the top of the Washington Monument in the blue. Fun bit of trivia: the Capitol building, the Washington Monument, and the Lincoln Memorial all line up along the National Mall.

super creative ranking, Neil! I think that the more simple designs are best for a should patch since they don't add too much extra to the jersey but are just a nice side touch. In my opinion the sharks and capitals patches are probably the coolest looking but seem to fit better as a main logo on the chest. I think my top 5 in no specific order are: Seattle, Toronto, Minnesota, Vancouver, and Chicago.

Yeah that Caps patch is sweet and to get so much info in it w/o it getting too busy is nothing short of a minor work of genius on the part of the designer. I don't know if anyone's pointed it out yet but, also in that Caps shoulder patch that you may not see or know about are: The large blue W in the wings. And the triangle at the top of that blue W is also meant to represent the top of the Washington monument. I agree its a fantastic logo but, (and I know this is a bit off topic) personally as a long time Caps fan I always preferred the old shoulder logo with the Capital dome, crossed sticks and stars (though I always hated the "not Caps" colors) But now that they came out with the new retro sweaters it's finally in red white and blue and I think it looks great... though the rest of that jersey is an assualt on my eyeballs but, I do so love that old shoulder patch. Sorry got a bit long winded there (covid 😡 boredom hitting hard today) But also wanted to say nice to see a Rangers fan saying something nice about the Caps.Great vid!!

The Islanders have worn a few different patches after the retirement of the lighthouse. The most recent ones were for the alleged final season of the Coliseum (which wasn't actually their final season there due to issues with the Barclays Center), the inaugural season in Brooklyn patch, and their memorial patch for Al Arbour after his passing.
