Which NHL Teams Will REBRAND Next Season?

As a Tampa Bay fan, I hope they rebrand. Either a different colour or a different logo. I Liked the 04 versions of the jerseys way more.

@z1mmy9 "Electric blue" is just a (self exlanatory) label they made up. Electricity isnt blue, much less that exact shade of blue. When you look up the colour hex, it comes up as Toronto blue, which is exactly what it looks like. The class joke is Tampa looked at Detroit and Toronto's uniforms and said "what if". And I meant 2004 the logo before it became just a white flash logo

Definitely think the Jets should re-brand. Like, go for the Heritage Classic full-time. The Lightning should definitely make something new with blue/black/silver. The Caps desperately need a change. Back to the screaming eagle (blue home, black alternate, white road) with modernized fonts and adjusted striping. The Sharks re-brand was a disappointment where I hoped for something more like the original uniforms. The Blue Jackets’ logo is fine but they really need to change their jerseys . Same goes for the Preds. The Flyers should have had orange numbers with outlines on their sleeves instead of just black. Also I think the Blackhawks should change their road numbers to red with black outlines (currently they look way to thick and clumsy).

Winnipeg (the city) deserves to have their history back now that the Coyotes are probably done.. Give them the logos, uniforms and the history from their time in Winnipeg and remove their history from when they were in Atlanta. They should be the Jets: 1972-1996, 2011-present.

The day the Jets 2.0 returned to Winnipeg, the NHL in 2011, the NHL gave them the trademarks to all the jersey and branding of the Jets 1.0 and the current Jets also assumed the Trademarks of the WHA Winnipeg Jets.

It would make sense to grant them the original Jets history, but I feel like they should also consider the Thrashers as a “merged” team or something. Not sure why they didn’t keep the logo trademark at least

@@teknicalmadeit Mark Chipman wanted to rebrand the Jets. He wasn't even keen on the idea of keeping the name. But the fans made it clear, we wanted the Jets back. With the Logo, we kept the CF-18 Hornet Jet and an adaption of the CAF logo band. But for those of us who remember the original Jets final decade, we wanted to be better so we accepted the change. That all being said....If Chipman decided to rebrand the jets and change up the logo, he knows the fans would push back. WE ARE THE JETS.

Ovi’s very openly talked about how much more he likes the Screaming Eagle designs, especially the current alternate black one, and generally they’re fan favorites too. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they just went all in on the screagles.

The teams I want most to rebrand are Tampa, Carolina, and Washington. I have a feeling Washington won’t rebrand until Ovi retires, and Carolinas jerseys are so awful as a set its infuriating lol. As a Columbus fan I hope we rebrand, but I don’t think the current iteration of the cannon jersey should become the home because oh how overused double blue is in the NHL. Winnipeg, Seattle, and St. Louis all have it, and Pittsburg and Atlanta also have used it. We will see though

It seems like the Jets have been rumoured to get a rebrand every offseason since Adidas took over lol. It’s been 15 years with their current uniforms and nothing generates more revenue than a rebrand. And the rebrand rumours are bound to come true eventually. It’s probably gonna happen now, especially with the Coyotes gone. I’d bet money on them going back to those uniforms within the next two seasons.

I think a Vancouver rebrand is inevitable because the skate jersey is so popular. In my opinion, I like the jerseys as they are now. I prefer the orca, as a 2000's kid I grew up with the orca, and the skate should stay as a third jersey.

One thing to take into consideration is the financial status of the team, Many times the changes in jersey is just to increase merchandise sales, example Tampa just sold part of team, new owner might want to make some money, i am betting 100% that Lightning have rebranding or some type of major change.

Not a rebrand in full, but DEFINITELY there will be a major change regarding the alternate jersey. First off, after a few years of killer reverse retros, a third is only not part of the jersey lineup because of the fanatics change. I believe the panthers will incorporate their updated leaping panther into a third jersey next year. Last year there was very little use of the leaping panther in casual gear in the team stores. This year, there is gear all over the arena with that logo on it. And its among their most popular selling gear. So no rebrand, but high chance a brand new idea coming for alternate jerseys next year.

I feel the Sharks might go with a new logo. Love the new jerseys but something feels so off with the orange in the logo. I always thought were pushing the new fin as the primary logo which I would hate. Id love a new shark head that matches the colour palate of the new jerseys.

This is from me scouring through Hockey Uniform DB. Obviously LA, Anaheim, Calgary, Philadelphia, Ottawa, San Jose and Boston aren't going to rebrand as thy've all rebranded since 2020. Some might add or change their alt jersey, but can't see much done outside of some minor touchups. I doubt there's any rebrand from any Original 6 teams, though I wouldn't mind the Bruins using either last year's centennial home and away orr this current black one and make a white one. I would be interested to see some alts for Detroit, Montreal, and Chicago. Pittsburgh and Colorado returned to classic looks around 2017 that were the right call, so I doubt they change much outside possibly their alts. Most jerseys are perfectly fine and can't see any rebrands. Florida might be the one that I think should rebrand, but I doubt they would so soon after winning a Cup and these jerseys represent their best era. I would also love to see Winnipeg make the heritage jerseys the home and away and potentially make one of their baby blue jerseys the alt. Washington should also either go full screaming eagle or throwback to their original uniforms. I think the Blues could benefit from a rebrand, but I doubt they do. As a Flyers fan, I'd like to say that they ned to put outlines on the numbers on the sleeves and add black piping between the front and the shoulders, and I don't care if that makes it too close to the 80s jerseys. I think Columbus and Nashville both need rebrands. Columbus needs to make better home and aways and keep the cannon. Nashville needs less yellow. Utah will obviously have a whole rebrand as well. Last thing is that Carolina is having an identity crisis so they need to figure something out or just move back to Hartford, cause their Whalers love is the only consistent thing with their jerseys.

Flyers need to go full 80s/90s era with the jerseys. The current set feel like cheap knockoffs. The lack of the black line between the shoulder yokes and main part of the jersey takes a lot away. Also the contrasting nameplates have gotten old. It was cool back in 2008 when they first did it, but now it just feels forced. I just really miss that old orange Flyers jersey. Wish they never got rid of it.

I will be very upset if the Leafs rebrand in any way. Keith Pelley, the new CEO of MLSE said (and im paraphrasing) "we're not here to sell jerseys" in the press conference after the Leafs lost to the Bruins in game 7 (for the fouth fucking time in 11 years). Any rebrand or design change in any way would would spit in the face of that statement.

Rebranding is just an excuse for an organization to try and change the past because there are embarrassed by what they have produced. Perhaps a far better choice is to improve the existing product so corporately they have something to be proud of.

Winnipeg can't rebrand that simply, they have a written contract with the Canadian Forces and KC3 about the usage of the likeness of RCAF symbols. They basically aren't allowed to make the RCAF or the King look bad and need express permission to do any minor alterations to their uniforms or trademarks

Personally i pray the Canucks don’t go back to the skate. To me, the logo doesn’t look good and not a fan of the red/black/yellow colour scheme. That and we didn’t have much success with those jerseys (losing 2 stanley cup appearances and getting bounced in the first round alot from 1978-1997 is not success)
