Bob Rarley They didn't hate each other. Pittsburgh was in financial disarray, and couldn't afford to pay the gambling addicted Jagr. They literally got nothing for Jagr in the trade to the Capitals, because they couldn't afford to pay anyone, that was a half decent hockey player. The Penguins are the shining example of the need for a salary cap. I can tell you, first hand, having season tickets since 1987, that the Pens were absolutely horrible, from 2002, until 2007. Even when they put the cap in 2005, they made some horrible free agent choices, to bring in, other than Sergei Gonchar.

My memory on this is kinda fuzzy, but what about the whole Shayne Corson and Darcy Tucker vs the rest of the Leaves because of some alleged improprieties involving Aleksandr Mogilny's wife theory? That was a pretty spicy rumour back near the turn of this century. I also seem to remember the mentioning of genital warts, but I could be wrong. This all coincided with Shayne Corson abruptly leaving the team, the city and the NHL in general. As I have never been what could be considered a Maple Leaves insider, I vaguely remembered these rumours and theories being discussed at length by other people who had no idea what they were really talking about, and had no means whatsoever to substantiate any of their bold claims.
