Great report Mike! Re: Olivier: I was hoping Habs would land Olivier or Deslauriers. Olivier has definitely proven his value this season. He is arguably the top tough guy in the NHL. Great team presence. His teammates LOVE this guy!!!! And.....he can score a few goals along the way.

CBJ signing Olivier is a good signing. Jiricek couldn't go to the Pens as they have nothing to offer to rival the Wild's package. Hoglander to the Pens for Marcus Pettersson. Graves, Grzelyk, and Pickering would be a tanking left side D. Time to fire or reassign Lou Lamorillo. Seriously. Lou under the bus. Hahahaha. Kadri is 34. Kadri has the rest of the season + 4 years on his $7AAV contract. He's a good fit but is his age and salary cap hit? Yes if they get rid of Tavares in the offseason. Trade a 1st and Nick Robertson.

I'm an Isles fan....move Nelson for a 1st round pick at the deadline, trade Palmieri, Lee has to go bc Horvatt has to wear the C moving forward (Lee is a fan fav but getting old, has to be done) Id also trade Dobson. And if any team will takes Pelech's contract move him too

Trade Robertson, Reeves and a 1st or 2nd pick for Lawson Crouse. Crouse can play at both ends of the ice, and he can score, especially if he has good linemates.

It will be hard to traded Kadri as for his NTC. In 2 years it will be modified NTC. The only way for Kadri to be trade this season is that he want out of Calgary. If Flames are still in the fight for playoffs it would be impossible to trade him at deadline. Also it could be high price for Maple Leafs to get him.

Let's see, Calgary has now lost 4 in a row to powerhouses like Ottawa, Detroit, Columbus and Pittsburgh. They are hanging on by their fingernails to the final wild card spot. Ahead of them is the Oilers, winners of 3 in a row and getting their act together. Behind them by only 2 points are 3 teams with equal numbers of games played. God help them if Colorado ever wakes up and gets a goalie. I love Naz, thought he got a raw deal when Toronto dumped him. But the reality is that he is a 34 year old forward in obvious decline making way too much money for way too long. His current stats, especially that team worst +/-, make him a poor choice for a third line center. His numbers would fall with less ice time and much less PP time. I can definitely see Calgary considering it, they really should consider a rebuild. Looks like they already have the goalie. But the deal would almost certainly knee cap any moves by the Leafs for the rest of the season. And I can't imagine them offering much more than Kampf or Robertson and a second round pick at best. Maybe a bit more if Calgary takes back 50%. There are a ton of better and cheaper centers out there that are better suited to a 3rd line role. O'Reilly would be a start. But I also think Minton is earning a chance, 4 points in 5 games deserves a real shot.
