I am so disappointed in the NHRA. They announced Torrence's penalty, and it's not even a slap on the wrist ($25,000 and anger management classes). His daddy will never even notice $25K fine. Millions of kids watched his poor sportsmanship and then saw him crowned champion without a word. A black mark on the sport of drag racing forever.

I always liked the Capco Kid. Snake is the Icon and I will now always root for the young kid to put the grown up baby kid in the trailer. Although Steve did apologize on air {credit due} can't wait for the re-match

To act the way he did when he WON and because of his previous poor sportsmanship they should have fined him. He needs some anger management and not say he is a man of faith...to take someone's hand in the pretense of a handshake then sucker punches them really shows his heart. HE IS NO JOHN FORCE AND HE NEVER WILL BE! Steve needs to grow up and get help for his little man complex!

I've never liked the guy since that moment. None of the other racers - virtually all of whom rely on outside sponsors - would have done that. For Steve, it was just too much a spoiled rich kid mistake. He apparently learned his lesson, though, as he seems to grovel in front of it whenever a camera is turned on him.

Doug Kalitta lost the championship by 3 points from what I heard. NHRA should have penalized Torrence 5 points for his dumbass actions, therefore making Doug the champ!!!

Nascar has their championship winning poor sport jerk, and now the NHRA has theirs.

Cameron should have given him 3 choices, stand and take an open hand to the face, write a 10,000 $ check or let the Pomona P.D.file 3rd degree assault charges

I had hoped that Cameron had got a professional medical examination to check his upper cervical vertebrae given how dangerous that awful shove looked. After all the research that has gone into providing the head and neck restraining device for the motor racing world. It would be agonizing if he suffered "complications" in later life. Oh, and please send said medical expenses invoice to team "crapco" or better still to the NHRA with their newly collected $25k.

Actually I was glad to see Tanner Gray leave NHRA. Now we have Pudge (Cameron Ferre) as NHRA's biggest baby. Torrence racing wins with their cars and driving abilities without playing childish games at the starting line.

Did y'all see hun at tha NHRA award ceremony???? Torrance publicly appologized. Call tha young dude out. And again apologized directly to him. Said that he, Torrance, was outa line. Appologized to everyone in tha room. Apologized to all tha junior dragster drivers that Cappco stoncers. Told everyone he,Torrance was outa line. I'm sure glad all y'all weren't watchen me. At almost 70, I can't begin to tell ya how many t I've been outa line. It can't be called back. What's done,is done. And, NHRA fined him $25,000. Jesus said, " those with out sin, cast tha first stone."
