@@Travelwithchris Yea, that area of city is called "Pantelej", u have here in Pantelej, lot of bakeries, caffes, small markets, and open market with fresh veggies and fruits its called "durlanska pijaca". 1km from ur hotel is "Pantelej" church nothing special, but i recommend u to visit. Also 5-6km from ur hotel is village called "Gornji Matejevac", and there u have very beautiful monastery of St.John (Sveti Jovan) and way to go there are really interesting. And i also recommend u to visit mountain "Suva planina", its around 20km from ur hotel, air there are very good and fresh, and its really high and cold. Also u should visit canyons of "Sicevo" and "Jelasnica", its around 10km from ur hotel and there u can see natural beauties. There is also Niška banja around 8km from ur place, there u have spa, pools, massages, saunas and relaxation. So these are my suggestions 😄

"Skull Tower is a stone structure embedded with human skulls located in Niš,Serbia It was constructed by the Ottomans following the Battle of Čegar of May 1809, during the First Serbian Uprising. During the battle, Serbian rebels under the command of Stevan Sinđelić were surrounded by the Ottomans on Čegar Hill, near Niš. Knowing that he and his fighters would be impaled if captured, Sinđelić detonated a powder magazine within the rebel entrenchment, killing himself, his subordinates and the encroaching Ottoman soldiers. The governor of the Rumelia Eyalet, Hurshid Pasha, ordered that a tower be made from the skulls of the fallen rebels. The tower is 4.5 metres (15 ft) high, and originally contained 952 skulls embedded on four sides in 14 rows." kzbin.info/www/bejne/hICleoibhb-Blck Duke (vojvoda) Stevan Sindjelic one of the bigest Serbian son. Hi and welcome to Niš, I'm a lawyer in Niš..thanks for visiting, just started watching this video and I want to add a notice, the bill you got for ordering a coffee, they must give a bill because if thay don't it's a fine ,they have to pay the taxes for every meal or food they sell so don't worry it's our law it doesn't mean that you've been rushed ..just relax and enjoy.🙂

You can be rushed some place else especially in the USA with or without a bill, but not in Serbia my friend! Bringing a bill with a coffee is a good thing and actually mandatory by the law in the whole region. If the business owner /server doesn't bring a bill to your table right away and get a cut by tax inspectors he or she will get a ticket. That means also that you as a foreigner are more than welcome and that you will be charged the same price like a locals and not get robbed just because your are an American which often happened in the past...

Chris, just a friendly suggestion if you want your channel to grow and be appreciated, because I see you put effort into making the videos. You should consider your language when you visit certain historical places. The Skull Tower is a memorial place of great tragedy. Ottoman empire, after winning the battle of Čegar imposed taxes for Serbian people in order to build tower made of skulls of their loved ones. People risked their lives trying to bury the remains, that's why there aren't many skulls left. Also, it was not covered for 70 years so the weather destroyed it too. To say it is "cool" and "so sick" might not be the best choice of words even if you consider this a chill and easy going platform. I am sure you understand since you did show respect for the victims of concentration camp. Anyway, I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Keep up the good work. 🍻

5:00 They usually leave the bill and it's not to rush you... During the summer, cafes are pretty busy so they leave the bill when they give you your order so later when you want to leave, you can just leave cash and leave the cafe so you don't have to wait for the waiter to get to you 😄 It's just a common practice, you can spend as much time at the Cafe as you wish :) and they leave it underneath the ashtray or in a shot glass so the wind doesn't blow it away.

Chegar is historical place to see to as it's connected with Skull Tower you have seen and Cerje cave that is one of the oldest and second-longest cave with a plaque to sit, drink and enjoy the site. ;) Also, Medijana, a place where rich people of the Roman Empire lived, with a villa where Constantine the Great was born. And Nish key is a place to be during warmer times as it's a gathering spot for youth to drink, talk, and chill. Welcome to Serbia!!! 🎈🎈🎈

In Serbia, there is no time limit on how long you can sit in a cafe, you can spend hours, the fact that they brought the bill is mainly due to our law on fiscal bills. The restaurants will bring a bill at the end of the meal. Only in restaurants where an appointment is booked can you be expected to have a certain period of time in which the reservation is valid.

Yes! Itamar aka Jacob (for me) hahaha. . .should start his own vlogging and Itamar must do it with bakery products and coffee ☕ shops to start with, also to enhance his English speaking skills. For sure lots of Filipino will follow him knowing that we Filipinos are loving Israel so much. Btw, our own Carlos P. Romulo, the UN Secretary General 1949 whose vote was crucial for Israel to win at the UN. Just one vote requires that time in favor of Israel to win. And, Carlos P. Romulo gave it for Israel to be a free Nation. We love Israel, and we love Itamar too. Itamar please start it now. The power is in your hands, don't waste it. Copy what Chris doing with his energy and enthusiasm for life. Of course we love Chris! We follow him all the time. We Love you Chris💌💌🇵🇭

What makes Belgrade truly worth visiting is the fact that it is still very unknown and unexplored for tourists - you can enjoy your holiday without huge crowds around you. If you have never been to the Balkans and you want to start exploring the region - Serbia, and especially Belgrade, is definitely a good start.

While you are in Niš, read the following article in Wiki: "Battle of Čegar" (1809). Note that Stevan Sinđelić actually did what was later assigned to Davy Crockett, only, a some years before Alamo 😎 Also, for 350 years of Turks in Serbia, they didn't build much, except maintaining fortresses in Belgrade, Niš and some other places, plus the Ćele Kula Tower - tower made of Serbian skulls! Really nothing, just plundering. No cities, no roads, no industries. And, BTW, the bill under ashtray is to prevent it fly away with the wind ✔

So cool Chris!!! Especially the concentration camp. I don’t know if you’ve been to Amsterdam?? If you do, visit the Anne Frank House Museum!!!! Very touching too!!! Another beautiful day there!!! Hey, I all of my cars used to be stick shift!! I taught my sisters how to drive stick shift until I lost my patience when they were trying to change gears going up on a hill!! Keep eating!!! Have fun!

Hey Jimmy! Yes, I've been to the Anne Frank house! Wish I was filming then! Fun fact I went to 40 countries before ever using a camera hahahah so sad about that! That's important because in most countries they only have manuel cars for rent, automatic is more expensive!

you got the bill because it is somehow prescribed by law and because of the inspection, people understand it differently, that someone is rushing you or something like that. sellers are simply obliged to submit an invoice after each order, and you simply know how much you drank and ate, unless all at once on the same invoice food and drink as in restaurants or cafes.

Smart choise not to enter tunels in fortress. Also fortress wasn't built in 1700, the walls around it were built then, but fortress is a lot older, first it was built by Romans, then it was Byzanthine.

Everyone in Serbia knows that the best food is in Niš. :) You have restaurants at every turn and they all prepare great food. You visit one of the oldest cities in Europe and get to know only a few things about it, and only from the last 200 years of its history. :)

Old name for Niš or Nish is Naissus. Naissus is third the most important and third the richest city in Byzantine empire. Nish is also 3rd the bigest city in Serbia, around 270 000 people. First is Belgrade 1,7 milions, second Novi Sad 340 000.
