Prince was the only man in Hollywood that made it obvious that he was all man. Don't let the high heels fool you. LOL Just to prove that Prince wasn't colorstruck, he was in concert and he looked into the crowd, and notice a chocolate black girl with braids , and kept calling for her to go up and dance on stage. Called out her color top , when she got up on stage, he was dancing with her, and checking out her butt. Finally, a bid dude either her father or man came over, and Prince said a few words to the man, and danced off. And at the Alma Awards years ago, he performed with Sheila E, he walked into the audience and went directly to a black girl, gave her attention, didn't pay any other female in the audience attention. And let's not forget Cat his former dancer time with him. She asked him point blank, why her? She told him, Apolonia was latina, Sheila E was mixed, and some other girl was mixed, and she said, I'm black. He looked at her was like yeah, and. And they spent time together, hanging out, but she said during the piece that although there was an attraction, nothing happened. She's the girl from, "If I Was Your Girlfriend", and they had chemistry. She left his company, when Prince didn't want her to, and when she was in the hospital, he out of the blue , he called her to check on her, and told her people informed him she was sick. We only have the public persona to go by, Prince was so private even those closest to him, didn't know him completely. Prince obviously saw the beauty in all women. And that's why he will go down as one of the greatest songwriters ever, because he was able to see beauty in a variety of things.

I never said Prince wasn't attracted to black women, but the public perception was that he wasn't. I never condemned Prince for his romantic taste, that was other people. Old topic but he was also into Dionne Farris, wrote , "Dionne" for her held on to it for 3 years, send it to her manager, He also put the song on one of his CDs. and talked to her over the phone for 3 years, and once found out she was pregnant the calls stopped, but according to Dionne, he would send her messages through his music. This was doing the mid to late 90s. They initially met when Dionne was performing he went to see her perform, and her manager told her that Prince was there for her. She went to see him, Prince was standing there sucking on a Charms sucker that matched his suit, he arrived with a was with an afro. Both were nervous, next thing she knew, Prince had sent her the song. She has all this information on her Facebook, Website and in her 60 page book discussing their friendship, she has internet interview in which she describes the friendship. At the time, she didn't realize he was interested because of her age, but now looking back, she realized that what he wanted. Tears will flow, her new album is her response to him. And this communication lasted for years.

I can relate. I'm a dude, but one time when I was a junior in high school an older girl who was very popular and attractive asked me to take her to the prom. I immediately rejected her because I thought I was being pranked, and even if she was serious, being upgraded so many levels that fast would've been more intensity than I could handle. u guys r both wrong. His first appearance was on the Bandstand. 1980! But he did not do "S&W!" Dick was too concerned about the lyrics and the effect on sponsors. Plus we were already on to the sales of "PRINCE" and to play that would not promote the sales for the newest album. We did not do much TV at the time because Prince hated TV. He did not like Dick saying "music like that does not come from Minneapolis!" He hated the idea that he had to lipsync and swore there would be no TV forever.....................and then MS was next. Owen asked him to do that. Thought it would be a great opp for him and AGAIN, there was that lipsyncing thing again. Radio spots and record store promo's and public appearances scared him to death.That is why the "shy" thing happened. No more press to foul up the works and mystery was the word for the day. It worked and people everywhere were trying to find out any and everything.
