That was absolutely mind-blowing. Not just his words, but his courage. This is a man who has found his soul and his peace. You know, it's not enough anymore to simply be rich. We have to have STATUS too, so that we can have somebody to look down on and feel good enough and superior enough about ourselves. Jim stepped all over those people in that speech, and many of those people were in his audience. And he knew this. And he didn't care, because somebody had to say it. I love it when someone says he or she deserves more recognition. For many years Jim Carey was the it man of Hollywood. Everything he touched turned to gold. Humans are fickle. They adore you one minute and then suddenly your irrelevant and old news. He's had more recognition than most of us will have in a lifetime. Now he is suddenly a motivational speaker offering sage advice on how everyone can achieve their idea of success. The reality is becoming a Jim Carey from homeless to Hollywood is equal to our chances of winning the lottery. However I do agree with many things he said and they certainly did hit home. Fear is absolutely a success killer. I've grappled with it my entire life. The what ifs create a wall so high it makes achieving goals seem impossible. Which is why so many of us fail.

Honesty is a very real form of bravery. And Jim is about as honest as they come. Sure he has depression and personal issues. Who doesn't? He's still incredibly empathetic, insightful, witty, and intelligent. You can't tell me an improv master of his caliber is not an intellectual icon. That's just plain ignorant. I'd rather idolize Jim Carrey then some douchebag's hero like Rump.
