Niagara photos and videos don't come by often. This was something amazing to see. So much stuff has changed, it was great to see "what was" yet again.

A lot of memories for me. I grew up in this area. I see you even got my friends house in the video when you were shooting in Port Robinson. So many changes since you shot this. Excellent video. Thanks for the up load.

Would love to find any footage of the Caso and Wabash lines back at Attercliffe and Canfield Jct. ! I suppose it would be unlikely to find any footage of the CN line that ran from Fort Erie up through Dunnville toCanfield,Caledonia,Brantford,Paris,to Goderich!

Great video both day and night. Nice to see history of the Niagara area saved. I appreciated the canal shots and Welland to Port Colborne rails. It is now downgraded to use mostly by the Trillium Railway with a speed restriction of 15 mph. Is there a way to purchase this from you?

Nice work, mate. Just out of curiosity, why did Norfolk Southern trains operating in that region have cabooses? Was that a condition for running on CN trackage? Also, if that’s the case, why didn’t that also apply to CSX?
@fmnut2 жыл бұрын
I believe it was due to a union agreement carried over from the Wabash era. As such it didn't apply to Chessie or the Canadian carriers. It only lasted a short time after the period of this video, when NS stopped running through trains over the Niagara peninsula in favor of an all US route.

NS inherited trackage rights from Detriot to Fort Erie over CN as a result of the N&W/Wabash/NKP merger of 1964. C&O had some owned trackage in Ontario inherited from the Pere Marquette in 1947. They also had trackage rights to Niagara Falls over Canada Southern (later NYC/PC/CR). Both of these operations were on their last legs during the time period of the video.

did the container train at the end make it under the bridge
@SeanMurrellRTS5 жыл бұрын
Actually the bridge was replaced due to an IM train going on the wrong track back in the ABS days. Back then only 1 of the 2 mains would allow IM traffic and the dispatcher routed them on the wrong track. They have since replaced that bridge, and the TR rail bridge behind it has been removed after vandals set it on fire.
@bennettgibson72875 жыл бұрын
Does NS still have those former Wabash trackage rights?
@SeanMurrellRTS5 жыл бұрын
Nope unfortunately not. Also CSX doesn't have the CASO as they once had in the image from the tunnel.
