Also yes the cabins are very different from hogwarts houses. They do each have special skills related to their godly parents, which differentiates the cabins quite a bit. During capture the flag, the leaders of the cabins make alliances with eachother beforehand to decide who makes up the teams. So because Luke and Anabeth are close, the Athena and Hermes cabins have likely been on the same team for quite a while

So Dionysus is camp director as a punishment. While on Olympus he tried to get with some nymphs that Zeus had declared off limits, so he now has to be camp director for 100 years and can't drink throughout that time either. Diet Coke's have become his replacement for the time. It's also a running gag in the books that he gets character's names wrong constantly, it's because he doesn't care.

Side note the character Perseus who Percy Jackson is named after is the son of Zeus so you was somewhat correct

They are likely worried that Percy will sacrifice saving the world for his mom if he ends up in a situation where he has to choose

Just a heads up, not all Demigods have powers to the level that Percy does. Some Demigods are more powerful than others, the more powerful the Godly parent the more powerful the Demigod. Forbidden Children (children of Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades) are the most powerful of all Demigods because Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades are the 3 most powerful gods. This is also the reason those same 3 gods made their pact to never father anymore children, their Demigod children were too powerful.

I’m enjoying your reactions!!! To me, the only other adaption that comes close as the series is The Lightning Thief musical, which I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it.
