Whenever Niantic releases a new feature in Pokémon GO, it sometimes comes at the cost of Event Spawns that players actually want. In this video, I will be discussing something that has been grinding my gears when it comes to this game!

Pokémon Go is a 2016 augmented reality (AR) mobile game developed and published by Niantic in collaboration with The Pokémon Company for iOS and Android devices. By early 2019, the game had over a billion global downloads, grossing over $3 billion in revenue. The game also had over 147 million monthly active users as of May 2018.

Man reason this event tanked is because of Rediscovered Kanto taking over the majority of the Rivals Week event.

Was just thinking about this while playing this morning. Far too many Gen 1 spawns, and far too little regional spawns, especially when they're being locked into 2 day windows. Really sucks playing for several hours and getting less than 10 of the regionals you're hunting for.

This has been an issue for a while. 2 years ago I went to Boston for my 40th bday. I had every intention of hunting as many Boufalant as possible. I got 2 because water week spawns were all over. I was not happy. This last March I was in Cancun hunting Hawlucha and on Thursday a new event started and I saw a lot less Hawlucha. Events can give us a reason to play but they need to push the regional spawn rate because if you spend real world money to travel you don't want to come back empty handed.

I traveled to the DC area last year. I was their 2 weeks. I only caught 2 Boffalos at the air port as I was about to fly out

I love rivals week but this Kanto event is overlapping the event and it is causing lots of glitches. Like the shiny glitch, Doduo, the hippo glitch, the Sneasel one, there is a regional glitch that is breaking the game and I think they need to fix that. Biomes are amazing and the two events are so good but to me the glitches are the reasons i’m very angry at Niantic for all of this. Though it did not mess with my experience in PvP though I think the current system of it is so mid anyways I love ur video count. Looking forward to ur next vid. Today is the day they are supposed to do a new Ar feature hopefully it is good feature.

Yes I agree. Just wish they would release new Pokémon as spawns. We all started this game chasing Pokédex entries and I miss that as it rarely happens these days.

Im in the UK, the biome backgrounds are pretty odd looking tbh, lots of small bushes and cherry trees, it looks nothing like anywhere at all. 😅

im not far in the video but I was saying this stuff a long time ago when they were talking about biomes. I said in theorty its a great idea, fits with the pokemon theme great. In practice though that means you are going to lose a lot of good spawns if you aren't near any areas worth traveling too. Low and behold. Hope you like machop everybody.

I'm very disappointed with Rivals Week as well. I saw maybe a handful of Zangoose at best during its 48 hours and about the same rate of Sawk about 24 hours in. I'm doubting that I will see more than a few Heatmor as well. Granted, I am concentrating on the three Regionals that are not in our area regularly, but the number of Sevipers and Throhs have also been quite low. I had hopes that I would have seen a lot of these three so that I could have a shot at getting better and shiny ones. I blame the Rediscover Kanto event a lot more than Biomes though. Seems like a lot of Kanto spawns are occurring where the Regionals should be... and to a lesser extent the regular featured mons. They should have blended Rivalry Week and Catching Wonders week since the latter has no special spawns known... at least then the special spawns would shine and we could get more chances at what we want. It's like they did too much this week and not enough next week...

Was looking forward to the possible shot at either shiny zangoose or seviper but in reality I only managed to catch 4 zangoose and 3 seviper.....so wasn't really a chance worth thinking about. Idc about sawk and throh. The event spawn frequency seems to be just enough to tell that there is in fact an event going on.

I've only really seen a few of the regional spawns and not really any of my own which is good and bad lol. The good part about this event is there is literally a mankey everytime I open the game. And I was not fortunate enough to get a good gl annhilape

The overlapping events and lack of the shiny boosted Pokémon spawning in general killed the hype as soon as I saw how dead day 1 was...

I’ve had nothing but kanto spawns and Ralts literally everywhere. I’ve spent entire days at the park and only obtained a few of the regionals….and not a single shiny since rivals week started. Not even from raids. Spawns and shiny rates are abysmal for this event with kanto overwhelmingly clogging up the event. One of the most botched events on PoGo history.

yeah there are a ton of glitches - getting into raid glitches, auto catcher glitches, spawns are not that great, definitely not getting any pvp iv Pokémon, so for me the event is like any other day, regional Pokémon that were locked in their location have already been out to the opposite regions so nothing exciting! Just waiting for Go Fest 2024 really! The raids have been good, wish it was unlimited and cost of remotes were back to normal, then i would not care about the wild spawns.

they should have made it just regional pokemon - even kanto has regionals - with certain shinies boosted on certain days and/or do the habitat thing over kanto for the moment really, people are struggling with johto spawns for the shaymin masterwork, we've had enough hoenn and sinnoh to make up the numbers since then

simply...this rivals week has sucked...no 3 star raids...barely see and of the featured spawns....no way they are shiny boosted...just a stupid event. At least we will get a shiny Bounsweet soon. majority of the raids I have seen have been Mankey...really? no need for Mankey raids if they are spawning by the dozen all day. The biomes was a great thing, I love the new look, and I love the new map details and encounter details...but its all lost...they are trying to hard to get stuff out...should have waited for the biome thing and make a huge focus.

The only time the wild spawns are exciting is the 1-2 days between events. Everything else I am sick of the same thing over and over again after about 1 hour from the event starting. If they could just bugger off events and widen the spawn pool for a while, that'd be nice. But that's just me as a returning on and off player, my friend group of returning 2016 players shares that sentiment.

Yes! Very disappointed. I also noticed the spawn rate tanked in general. A very busy parking lot that had a lot of spawns now no longer has the same amount. I noticed that everywhere I go now. I feel like the game is tanking.

Maybe I am playing a different game....but the typical region locked pokemon are not pvp relevant. While those spawns do appear to be lacking, rip shinys (not boosted anyway), the non-regional, non-kanto event spawns are just as expected, and are literally everywhere. The only pokemon I haven't seen much of is gligar. Not to mention, the 2x catch candy has been incredible.

Bounsweet is bittersweet since it is a new shiny (great), but this is the third grass type this year and 2 in a row among traditional CDs (both being non-Starters). I was hoping for a non-grass type to mix the events up a bit more.

Me and my husband both got lucky and got us a shiny Zangoose , but that is ALL we have gotten. We have played every single day of this event, and neither one of us has come across no other shinys. Like they’re turned off or something. I really want a shiny seviper (my husband has one) but I hardly see any! I’ve already got a shiny sawk(from a previous event in winter time) but I don’t have the shiny throh and I’ve checked hundreds of those as well! I know the shinys aren’t boosted, but as much as me and my husband have been playing this event, is their a glitch? Are they turned off?

we all would like more diversity but this video is saying too many pokemon at the same time because 2 events, which increases diversity even if still not good enough. now imagine events like before where for a week all you can see are the same again and again i get bored after day 2, and 2 more weeks left till the end of groundhog day, so I stop playing sometimes for months. so repetitive events which go on for weeks, and the best same pokemon by the truck loads that people in comments are clamoring for and the increased focus on specific pokemon that this video is promoting, are terrible for the game because it leads to burn out boredom and players quitting

if people are complaining they are seeing too little of the same pokemon again and again, well they will not be playing for long cause that will cause burnout. on of the main problems of pokemon go is the lack of rarity. you go out and see the same again and again. if you want anything rare you raid which is boring as hell. so wts the point to go out and play?? nothing really exciting ever happens. and people want more repetition?? they will quit soon out of boredom also after they get their 1000th amazing copy of the same pokemon.

actually for the first 2 days there were barely any of the rivals, specially Zangoose (since it's not my regional). however i'm seeing many more sawks and it felt more balanced

@@pradopianoI get it’s relative but of course the ones that I don’t care about (sawk, throh) are common and Zangoose isn’t. Too much spawn clash but these weren’t going to be common spawns either way.

I have 29 stops and 7 gyms I can see from my house and play. I was excited for possible shiny seviper and zangoose since I have neither. I saw/ caught 5 seviper since the start and 7 zangoose. That’s pretty low given the Pokémon rich area I live in and amount I played. I have seen maybe 15 Thor. But only 2 Durant and 0 heatmor. Plenty of Machop etc. and sufficient amount of Sawk. I thought I’d see more of the featured spawns with boosted shinies I realize that Niantic uses the term “some trainers MIGHT encounter” but past events like this had many more of those encounters than this event. I don’t know if it’s biomes or Kanto but my area has park, forest and a random parking lot that’s beach.

Disagree, it is terrible those events that you are TIRED to see the SAME pokemon, no mater how good they are, again and again for days even weeks in a row! make a person wanna quit out of boredom. at least now i can see a bit of diversity and quality mixed
