This is one of my favorite videos ever and I'm watching it at least once a year.

I plan to rip off 100% of these ideas and tricks. Absolutely awesome. I already edit 'cos I hate gating too. I also really like that he tries it out and if the band don't like it it's gone. No big deal. Want to hear more from Nic Hard, excellent overview of a mix.

ContentID, which helps artists and labels track their rights online. Definitely something we support, though it can be inconvenient at times. We have approval to use the track from the band, but are having a little trouble getting the message through to the label. We're working on it! Hopefully you'll be able to see it soon.

I dont really feel this music, like the sum is almost not greater than the parts, feels just like everybody just playing their thing at the same time

Sorry but the sonics for this album really fall short of what I had expected. I love Snarky Puppy and have seen them live a few times. The excessive effects really muck up the sound and everything sounds horribly compressed.

I am sorry but everything you mentioned is exactly what i like most about this album

That's what the band put out man. It wouldn't sound like that if they wanted it any other way.

They only get to do proper studio albums once in a while so they decided to take advantage of everything a studio has to offer (effects overdubs, detailed mixing/mastering etc.).

I think it was the purpose dude.

Have no idea why people are just saturating their mixing sessions with sooo many tracks. Absolutely unnecessary.

well there is a difference between layering and getting a full thick sound and over clustering. Too many folks over cluster. But this is too minor to debate man..to each his own.

too many tracks.. wish this kind of production could be done without so much processing and digital crap ... the end result is rather squashed and mostly robbed of the original transients of the live recording ... Sorry yet this kind of mixing is just plush and impressive for newbies .. yet the sound is just plain normal american industry pop ...
