@@JonathanModig exactly. Arnold in his best years was pushing 250lbs onstage. Theres no way you could have a smaller waist. Look at Coleman, Cutler, Dorian. They definitely didnt have small waists...Also now guys are using SEOs to make their shoulders and arms wider and bigger to hide the oversized midsections.

Back in 1980 when I was 21, I found the book “Pumping Iron”, bought it, and it introduced me to the sport of bodybuilding and to that group of guys who were featured in it including Arnold S. I knew by his appearance in the photos compared to the others that Arnold was #1 with his size combined with that perfect symmetry he had developed. The guy I thought was #2 next to Arnold was Franco. He had that fantastic symmetry like Arnold did, just not on the large frame like Arnold’s. Without having known anything about bodybuilding before picking up that book, I had personally picked Arnold and Franco as my top two favorites. Those two had THE BUILD I wished I could have had. Franco and Arnold had the absolute PERFECT male physiques in their day! And beyond bodybuilding, Franco seemed like such a nice person - a good loyal friend - always smiling - he always seemed upbeat and like he would be a friend to anyone. There’s a big hole in the world with Franco gone. The world needs a lot more just like him!

I actually knew about Franco before I knew about Arnold because I was into powerlifting. I had friends that were into bodybuilding and one had a Joe Weider magazine that introduced Arnold to America. This was in the late 60's.

Gentlemen, this video proves that the absolute best supplement to any training program is a great training partner. I know this because when I used to train and compete, the thing I think about most during those awesome days in the past is my training partner and how for many years we pushed each other to get stronger and better. We competed against each in the gym week in and week out to see who could lift heavier weights and doing our sets with better form. We watched each other and were very critical of each other making sure there was no cheating our sets. It was tough. He made me better and I made him better.

Franco was a good friend to the terminator supporting him all the way to the top. Equally, Arnie is a good friend he hasn't forgotten his buddy's role to his success and emotional support. I started lifting weights at 16 yo as part of my HS wrestling routine. I am 5'2" and Franco was my blueprint and inspiration. Until this day at 42 yo he still is. Whenever, I see Franco pose he gives me goose bumps. I don't think we have ever seen another like him since. There would be no Arnold w/o Franco. Arnold owes him much considering the unkind things he said in "Pumping Iron" about his lifelong and loyal friend.
