There is no need to lubricate the new cables, as they slide well as they are. The old ones that are no longer moving well in Housing are lubricated, but this is a temporary solution before replacement

I'm still using XT 739 ($150.00🍁) V-Brake levers I bought in 2006 and XT 760 V-Brakes ($160.00🍁) I bought in 2007; they still work and look brand new🤘🤘
