@@Okla_Soft oh for sure, I agree. And the other employees are definitely spot on. This is almost like a helpdesk guy's power fantasy. They're saying some of the things I _wanted_ to say, especially on bad days, but I liked my coworkers too much (most of fhem, most of the time) lol.

Brings back so many memories, especially when the beeper goes off lol. Always end up telling them to move, because its just easier than trying to talk them through it. I dont envy tech support over the phone. Worked tech support at a lot of major tech corporations as well as sys admin and network admin. It had its perks, the companies paid for a lot of my certs like A+, MCP and MCSE.

@@seamusquain2706 the IT crowd is great and is not pure satire, it’s a good sitcom that isn’t awful like big bang theory. As an IT guy that doesn’t treat people like shit and has actual social skills (though not all do), I still love this. I’m American and don’t think we could do the It crowd as well as the brits. They made a pilot that bombed.

I got into IT before they called it IT. One of my new assistants wore a white lab coat and a tie and talked like that, but was more polite. His sarcastic jabs almost seemed like compliments.

If you had to deal with all the stupid questions we get by people who copy paste numbers into spreadsheets professionally, you too would be annoyed. I had to explain to a lady how electricity worked and the fact that a heater power cable FUSED to her power strip with burn marks was a problem.

Between this skit on SNL and the British show IT Crowd, it's hilariously accurate other than the part where he was rudely yelling the users to move. If you did that in real life, you'd not be able to keep that job for long.
