Clip from "One More Time With Feeling"
I do not own rights to this clip
The song reference is "The Sorrowful Wife":
The water is high on the beckoning river
I made her a promise I could not deliver
And the cry of the birds sends a terrible shiver
Through me and my sorrowful wife
Who is shifting the furniture around
Who is shifting the furniture around

Nick describing Susies tendency to change the furniture around is hilarious.....I can go to bed and wake up and the bedroom has now become the TV room .....The way he talks of Susie you can really feel the love. They're a beautiful couple 🖤💜

This is a funny and sweet clip. You can tell that the two love each other dearly and have been together as long as they have and facing numerous trials and tribulations.

I get why she does it. It's a form of control. I tidy the house obsessively when I am stressed out. How awful for them to have lost their son.

Some Melbourne accents are dreadful, but with Nick it probably has to do with the schools he went to. He has more of a South Australian accent.

I like the explanation that it is a women's lack of fulfillment ..makes sense if they have no creative outlet of their own. Now she is a fashion designer, does she still move the furniture ?

Well it sounds extreme but then there are those who are stagnate can't tolerate change even improvement. Fashion changes seasonally so she could probably be an interior designer type too. Study feng shu or something.

When my ex done this i felt it was about changing the room to reflect how she was feeling. It sometimes annoyed me if the room became less comfortable other times i recognised a creativity in it some kind of artistic arrangement

men probably don’t like it bc it changes the environment they are accustomed to. idk, something like that, i don’t claim any intellect. personally though i always enjoyed it when my parents would shift our furniture around, it kept things from being repetitive and mundane, and usually marked the shift of seasons.

Many men are less intuitive than many women and assess and internalise their surroundings in a very fixed way when they first encounter them. I've watched very masculine spirited people of both sexes spend weeks or months be bashing their ankles on moved furniture because it's now 'in their route'. Ask a man and woman to draw a map of their home and look at the different results. The priorities and emphasis will be very different.

If I had a wife like Susie moving the furniture around wouldn't bother me. It's only because Susie is more organised. Nike is only joking, he'll never-ever divorce Susie. I will never understand how they can live in the U.K. and not Australia? That must Susie wanting to be with her mum in the U.K. I think Nick should move back to Australia to help him become more creative and more interesting, indeed. Plus: England voted to leave from the European Union = sign its own death warrant...It's horrible how the Royal Family treats British people. Most British people love Europeans and want to be part of Europe. I could never support the U.K. while they have that Evil Royal Family. No-wonder Nike hasn't written any good music in years?
