Lyrics: "She sits at the window Her hands folded on her sleeping lap As He steps from the tomb In his rags and his wounds Into the yellow light that streams Through the window, He brings Peace and good tidings to the land Peace and good tidings to the land And as the waters cover the sea And as you wake and turn to me Peace and good tidings He will bring Good tidings to all things."

"And as you wake and turn to me" is on the same wavelength as "and you're sitting at the kitchen table listening to the radio" - where something so grand can be, if you just think to turn it over, the most intimate and tender.

Troostende muziek!

@jeromedupont52184 ай бұрын

Personally I'm rather getting into it it's quite relaxing, from the garage goth thrash of the Birthday Party to this gospel tinged more spiritual music is interesting progression, that's just my opinion though.

He's been steadfast on the same path he's chosen for himself as an artist his whole career, creating the music he wants, which is more than what many can say. He's not lost at all. Good for him.

Might be a hot take but I'd say Nick was influenced by Kanye West's gospel songs.

@mmayer15584 ай бұрын
Granted, I don't know Nick's work extensively. It's just that Nick has mentioned Kanye so there is reason to believe some influence. In ways they have recorded similar uplifting religious themes but also brooding, dark material. It also could be Elvis inspired.
