What happened at the end w/ Nicks audio is an example why I’m starting to get really interested in 32bit float audio recorders, so that audio for projects are more salvageable in comparison to typical setups

I want a new pro level mac mini! I love my imac i currently have I only got it because the older mac mini's had horrible gpu's but now with the soc its all super good. lots of video memory. As for HDR, just like 4K until there is a new broadcast standard in the US, there is BT2020 / BT2100 which is a 4k standard, but thats europe, no clients want anything other than HD.

Maybe Griffin could get a thunderbolt to 10GBe adapter. Not only does it support regular ethernet, it supports connecting to 10GBe NAS RAID units, so you can edit off network disks in a performant manner

M1 Macs have been very tempting, but I feel like i don’t have a proper use case for it as I’m pretty much home all the time with a powerful PC workstation, and even a laptop is a little unneeded, though I am tempted for an iPad Pro. Thoughts?

It's interesting how Apple has done to turn the game around. It reminds me of how Sony when from being last in class to making the leaders work hard to keep up. It will be interesting to see the future of Apple Silicon

Not interesting at all for people who are around computers for a long time and have been waiting for this for decades. ARM (RISC) was exactly the same in the 80s, way better for the money and per watt, but Intel/Microsoft mafia stole the market using corruption and lies.Without them, todays computers would be way better.

I have a 16” 32c 32gb M1 max. Whenever I have photoshop and Lightroom open the memory pressure goes yellow (never red) I don’t see any drop in performance. I will have safari (6 tabs) email, messenger and maybe 10 photoshop projects open and Lightroom. Is it ok/normal for these computers to go into yellow? Istat pro says it never goes above 79% memory usage but it still uses swap

I went for the MacBook Pro 16” 32 Core GPU, 64GB RAM / 1TB SSD. It was for $3899 but I did get $200 off so ended up paying $3699. Now there is a sale of a $300 discount as well. Also I didn’t had to pay any tax since I shipped to a mail forwarder in Sarasota/ Florida before shipping forward to Maldives. So basically it’s a flat $3699

Guys - it’s time to consider a like-ectomy. Maybe Nick can come up with a word recognition filter to count the “like” interjections in this video. Or use Descript to find and delete. It’s getting close to a fallback into Valleyspeak.

I love Apple Silicon... until I lost my second laptop to water damage. Since there is no SSD, all data in the laptop is lost. Considering SSDs are sealed and recoverable, you would think Apple could incorporate some kind of sealant on the entire motherboard that would eliminate vulnerability of laptop computers to a tipped drink or whatever.
